Vive la France! And vive la French cuisine! Bastille Day is tomorrow, Friday, July 14 and it’s the perfect excuse to take part in the city’s best French cuisine. Brasseries, bakeries, and other hot spots have special offerings for the holiday that will have you feeling beyond satisfied.

Bistronomic {840 North Wabash Avenue, Chicago; 312.944.8400}

Bistronomic is offering a French feast for a bargain! There will be a $39 three-course, prix fixe menu available only this weekend. Delectable menu options include Steak & Prime Beef Tartare with pomme frites and garlic confit, as well as Baked Alaska for dessert with vanilla ice cream, mixed summer berries, and toasted meringue. If you want a lighter meal, there will also be a two-course prix fixe lunch and dinner menus for $17.89.

Floriole Café & Bakery {1220 West Webster Avenue, Chicago; 773.883.1313}

Starting on Friday, Floriole Café & Bakery will host a whole weekend of festivities for Bastille Day. Every day from 3 to 5 pm, guests can enjoy happy hour specials including $5 beers and $6 select French wines, plus complimentary French-inspired tastings. Floriole will also offer a special Bastille Day French cheese plate and kids can showcase their creativity with themed activities along with arts and crafts. The complimentary daily tastings will include fine French wines on Friday, cheese tastings on Saturday, and a finale of chocolate tastings on Sunday.

The Loop’s French brasserie will feature a variety of specials in celebration of Bastille Day on Friday, including $10 glasses of select French Sparkling Wines, $5 Chartreuse Shots, $1 Oysters, and $15 for classic Steak Tartare. Treat yourself to them for a work week lunch or linger over happy hour on their patio.
