Cucumber Cocktails for Summer

Just in time for National Cucumber Day

Cucumbers can cover your eyes for relaxation, dip in ranch for snack time, or star in a cocktail for a delicious summertime drink. Seeing as tomorrow (Tuesday, June 14) is National Cucumber Day, we have cocktails you can make at home to honor the delicious ingredient. Chicago-based Hendrick’s gin Brand Ambassador Fred Parent suggests three cocktails, each of which complement the ingredient in perfect balance.

Hendrick’s Cucumber Lemonade

Simple, but refreshingly delicious. In a tall glass, combine 3 ounces Hendrick’s gin, 1 ounce fresh lemon juice, and 1 ounce simple syrup. Add ice, top with sparkling water, give a gentle stir, and garnish with a cucumber spears. 

Hendrick’s Cucumber Southside

In a shaker, gently muddle 3 cucumber wheels and 5-8 mint leaves. Add 3 ounces Hendrick’s gin, 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice, 3/4 ounce simple syrup, and ice and shake with vigor. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with a cucumber wheel.

Lady Grace Drummond-Hay

For a more acidic option, the Lady Grace Drummond-Hay perfect for lounging on a patio, flying first class, or any other of your favorite summertime activities. In a coupe glass filled with ice, combine 1-1/2 ounces Hendrick’s gin, with 1 ounce of your favorite Chardonnay, 1/8 ounce citric acid or citrus juice, and 1/8 ounce simple syrup. Add 1 dash orange bitters and stir.
