With all the hubbub around New Year’s Eve, we can sometimes forget that there’s a whole other day of celebrations to look forward to after the clock strikes midnight. New Year’s Day has its own parties and celebrations, if you can peel yourself out of bed that is! If you think leaving bed might be a struggle, we have a few hot spots that will have you leaping from bed, ready for your next meal. Let’s make the first bite of 2020 an amazing one…

Beatrix {River North, Streeterville, Fulton Market and Oak Brook locations}: No one does brunch like Beatrix! Order up a Spicy Bloody Mary or Boozy Banana Joe while you enjoy brunch favorites like Green Chili Enchiladas, House-Made Belgian Style Waffles, or their Mushroom & Quinoa Burger. This is the perfect place to bring a group and de-brief on last night’s antics.

Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap {41 East Superior Street, Chicago; 312.266.0400}: Welcome in the New Year and chase away your hangover with the ultimate Chicago boozy brunch! Everyone will be wearing PJ’s at Jake Melnick’s New Year’s Day Hangover Brunch with a “Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar,Beer-Mosa and Mimosa Bar” available from 11am-3pm. If you need some delicious food to balance out the alcohol, they will also have a Chef’s Table featuring pancakes, breakfast sausage, eggs, and a cereal bar, along with giant jenga and board games. So much to do all at one brunch!

Centre Street Kitchen {1224 West Webster Avenue, Chicago; 312.815.1917}: Start your year off with some good karma at a restaurant that focuses on giving back as well as serving up delicious food. Brunch at Centre Street Kitchen includes Chicken & Waffles with smoked chicken croquette and maple syrup as well as Chai French Toast with fresh berries and espresso-chocolate whipped cream.

Riccardo Osteria {1023 West Lake Street, Chicago; 312.291.8620}: If you need a bit of a lie in, that’s totally okay! You can still get dinner at Riccardo Osteria, and end New Year’s Day with a plate full of Veal Ravioli or Bucatini Carbonara. There is no better way to start a new decade than with lots and lots of pasta!

You can enjoy their Pajama-Themed Brunch Party from 12-3pm on January 1 for only $29. The chef-Inspired brunch buffet comes complete with bottomless mimosas and Bloody Marys. Pajamas are strongly encouraged!

Hub 51 {51 West Hubbard Street, Chicago; 312.828.0051}: Rest up and from the New Year’s festivities with an all-you-can-eat brunch buffet and bottomless bellinis, mimosas or Bloody Marys at this River North favorite. Enjoy brunch classics like Brioche French Toast served tableside or a Short Rib Benedict, and start off 2020 on the right bite.

Bernie’s Chicago {660 North Orleans Street, Chicago; 312.624.9892}: On New Year’s Day, guests can toast to the Roaring 20’s with $18 bottomless bellinis and brunch, served at Bernie’s from 11am-3pm. A little hair of the dog will help cure that first hangover of 2020 right up!

Bistronomic {840 North Wabash Avenue, Chicago; 312.944.8400}: After a big New Year’s Eve party, Bistronomic is keeping the celebrations going with New Year’s Day brunch and dinner specials. They will have a special two-course brunch menu including bottomless mimosas for $39 from 10am-2:30pm, plus a special dinner menu at night. Chef Martial Noguier’s expertise will take center stage for two delicious meals.
