No one does St. Patrick’s Day quite like Chicago. Outside of Ireland, we in the Windy City know how to celebrate, with everything from parades to a bright green river to plenty of drink and menu specials throughout the city. Here are our top picks for where to cheers St. Paddy.

Public House

River North’s favorite gastropub, Public House {400 North State Street, Chicago; 312.265.1240}, has proven to host some of the most sought after parties every year. So, of course, they’re returning this year with their annual “Tap O’ The Morn” event on Saturday, March 11. Public House will be transforming from a sports bar into an all-day Irish extravaganza. The event will open to the public at noon, with specials including green beer, Jameson shots, Car Bombs, and of course a green Jell-O shot or two, because what would be a party without Jell-O shots? Come and celebrate!

LondonHouse Chicago

There are few views better than LondonHouse Chicago {85 East Wacker Drive, Chicago; 312.357.1200} to take in the dyeing of the Chicago River. Weather pending, their infamous rooftop will be open for the dyeing of the Chicago River on Saturday, March 11th. With three levels of both indoor and outdoor dining, there are plenty of spaces to enjoy drinks like their custom “The Chicago” cocktail made with Park Cognac, Amontillado sherry, Cointreau, and vanilla syrup, topped with sparkling wine. Pair it with 1/2 dozen oysters or their Dry-Aged Rohan Duck Breast with vanilla parsnip purée for an elevated St. Paddy’s Day feast.

Federales

On Saturday, March 11th, Federales {180 North Morgan Street, Chicago; 773.831.9696} will be hosting a lively “Party Like a Piñata”. Opening at 10 am, the West Loop tequila and tacos joint will feature the ultimate St. Paddy’s experience with a Mexican twist, complete with decor including piñatas and green ice shots available for guests. The focal point, however, will be a 15-foot long piñata hung above the patio, so guests won’t miss the fiesta from the streets!

The Kitchen Bistro

The Kitchen Bistro {316 North Clark Street, Chicago; 312.836.1300} will offer a variety of St. Patrick’s Day themed food and beverage specials on both Saturday, March 11 and Friday, March 17 for the holiday.
