7 Father’s Day Ideas for Every Type of Father

Whiskey or beer brunch? Let Dad decide.

He taught us how to ride a bike, fix a flat tire, and (in my case) get out of a speeding ticket—it’s about time we raised a glass to our dads. With Father’s Day fast approaching, we’ve curated a list sure to treat your pops to something special. From whiskey flights for brunch to a classic car show, here are seven ways to celebrate your dad for Father’s Day.

For the dad who loves his car

Gander at American car classics at The Post Chicken & Beer {1258 South Hover Road, Longmont; 720-588-2883}. The original fried chicken outpost will be hosting an American Classic Car Show and Auction on Saturday, June 17 from 11am-3pm. 24 classic cars from the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s will be on display, with several of them being up for auction. When you’re done daydreaming, nosh on à la carte menu items from the restaurant including $12 Fried or Barbecue Chicken Platters and $4 Chicken Biscuits. Wash it all down with $2 canned brews from the Post.

Planning on going to Rockies game with your dad? Show up early as the first 15,000 fans will receive a Father’s Day barbecue spatula, which they can get autographed at the game (purchase tickets here). After the game, you can celebrate the win (or cheers to next time) at Vesta {1822 Blake Street, Denver; 303.296.1970}. The LoDo mainstay is offering an early happy hour starting at 4pm, which Dad can kick off with a free craft beer in honor of his special day. Executive Chef Nick Kayser will also be grilling up a specialty Father’s Day dish, Baseball Cut Rib-eye, sure to satisfy any hungry appetite.

For the dad with a sweet tooth

The collection is available in a six-piece box for $15 or a 12-piece box for $28.75. Pick up one at the shop from now until June 18th.
