Situated comfortably on a corner spot in the Highlands, Matador is the perfect place for a secluded night out. Even though Matador has sprung up in multiple cities around the country, our Denver location is as unique as they come. In fact, the bar and each individual tabletop are handcrafted by Matador founder, Zak Melang. Even the gorgeous custom metalwork that overlooks the bar is forged by local Seattle artists. Stop in after dark and watch the restaurant come to life, as the interior is illuminated by hundreds of candles, lit by hand every night.
For a truly unique date night, stop into Matador on Tuesdays for Top Shelf Tuesday. Every Tuesday, all tequilas over $12 are half-price. With a lineup over 130 plus varieties, ranging from honey and caramel to earthy and floral profiles, the choice is yours. Unsure of what to try? Just ask your server. The staff goes through monthly trainings, where they meet with the distiller, learn about the history, and sample the tequila. So trust us, they know their stuff.
For true explorers, Matador has crafted a menu of tequila flights, which are also discounted on Tuesdays. New to tequila? Try the purest form of tequila with the Blanco Flight which features 3/4 ounce pours of Jose Cuervo Platino, Milagro Select Barrel Silver, and Gran Centenario Plata. Partial to a particular brand? Choose the Familia Flight and discover blancos, reposados, and even añejos from your favorite tequila of choice. And as for experienced tequila aficionados, choose from two different offerings of extra añejo flights which include selections from Herradura and Don Julio.
As for those of us who love our precious margs, Matador offers a full menu of margaritas including the Top Shelf Margarita–made with Avion Blanco and Patrón Citrónge— to the Tamarind Margarita, rimmed with a coating of cinnamon sugar.
For a new take (or taste) on date night, put Matador on your list.
