Seven Grand {1855 Blake Street, Denver; 720.863.8975}, a Dairy Block tenant that offers nearly 700 whiskeys, was named Whisky Magazine’s Whisky Bar Group of the Year as part of the magazine’s 2020 Icons of Whisky America awards. Berkeley Donuts to Fill Hole Beginning Feb. 26

Berkeley Donuts will open at 7:30am on Wednesday, Feb. 26, inside Hops & Pie {3920 Tennyson Street, Denver; 303.477.7000}, filling something of a doughnut void in the immediate vicinity. Berkeley Doughnuts will serve sourdough-raised, potato-style doughnuts in multiple varieties and flavors, including vegan and gluten-free options. Hot chocolate and Novo coffee will also be available. “Growing up in the Northeast, I would go to local doughnut shops where the doughnuts had a crispy outside and an elegant, cake-like inside. The texture was so different from other doughnuts, I was in heaven with each bite,” says Berkeley Donuts Head Baker Audie Mauk, Hops & Pie’s former sous chef. “When Hops & Pie owners Drew and Leah Watson approached me about this project, featuring the doughnuts of my childhood, I was all in.” Berkeley Donuts will open at 7:30am on Wednesdays-Sundays and remain open until sold out. Room for Milly {1615 Platte Street, Denver; 720.630.7020}, a sophisticated cocktail bar from Fiona Arnold and Jeffrey Knot—the owners of Blue Sparrow Coffee and Queens Eleven—will officially open on Friday, Feb. 28, though guests can get a sneak preview this weekend. Room for Milly will focus on high-quality cocktails and feature inspired small plates. The space is named for well-traveled 1920s socialite Milly Parker, and according to a press release, the owners’ goal is to “create a space for ourselves and a few friends, reflecting the infamous Milly Parker’s love for travel, cocktails, and conversation.” Beginning Feb. 28, Room for Milly will be open from 3pm-midnight Sundays through Thursdays and 3pm-2am on Fridays and Saturdays. National Margarita Day may be Feb. 22, but Los Chingones’ locations have been celebrating Margarita Week, which ends Sunday, Feb. 23. Featured margaritas include Black Diamonds, made with mezcal, lime juice, agave, activated charcoal, and plum bitters; Hibis-Kiss, made with blanco tequila, hibiscus tea, lime juice, agave, and egg white; and J-Lo Paloma made with Milagro blanco tequila, Champagne, lemon juice, and smoked grapefruit bitters. Polls Open for the 2020 Garnish Games

Tickets are on sale for the YWCA Boulder County’s annual fundraising gala, which begins at 6pm on Saturday, March 7, at the Boulder Jewish Community Center {6007 Oreg Avenue, Boulder}. The event is titled “Hear Us Roar: A Speakeasy Soiree” and will highlight the 1920s and celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment with a nod to the 55th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act. The event will be catered by Blackbelly and its award-winning Executive Chef and Owner Hosea Rosenberg. Avery Brewing Company is the beer sponsor, and a signature gin cocktail will be offered by Longmont’s Dry Land Distillers. Tickets are now available for the second annual International Women’s Day Celebration at The Ramble Hotel {1280 25th Street, Denver; 720.996.6300}. The event will be held from 4-7pm on Sunday, March 8, and will bring together some of Denver’s most talented female entrepreneurs for a night of delicious foods and drinks, as well as an all-female marketplace. Appetizers and small bites will be crafted by a number of renowned Denver-area chefs, including Dana Rodriguez of Super Mega Bien and Work & Class; Jen Jasinski of Rioja, Stoic & Genuine, and Bistro Vendome; Kodi Simkins of Wolf’s Tailor; and Mel Schmidt of Death & Co. Marketplace vendors include Babe Walls, Sacred Thistle, Animal Hand Made, Women’s Wine Guild of Colorado, and The Riveter.
