Kendall-Jackon’s Grilled Flatiron Steak

Pair with: Kendall-Jackson Vintner’s Reserve Zinfandel


1 (2-lb) flatiron steak, halved and fascia removed
kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper
Sea salt


Remove steaks from refrigerator and allow to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. Preheat grill to high heat.

Pat steaks dry with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper. Place steaks on grill for 1 minute, rotate 90-degrees, and cook for 1 minute more. Flip steaks over and cook for 1 minute, rotate 90-degrees, and cook 1 minute more or until done. Remove flatirons from grill, cover with aluminum foil, and allow to rest for 5 minutes. Slice the steaks, sprinkle with sea salt, and serve.
