We’re switching things up and separating the Denver news from the openings and closings and from the events. That way you’ll get quicker snippets on what’s going on! You may have also noticed we didn’t post much last week, our website was down for maintenance. But it’s back now and all the DiningOut cities are on the same page, literally.
As for this week, we’re looking forward to a new Spanish-style kiosk in Union Station, your-new-favorite Asian restaurant, and a hot spot for smoothies. Sadly there’s some heavy closings too, including a beloved rotisserie chicken shop. Read on for more top news stories and send us any tips via Instagram or by emailing info@diningout.com.

Mexican Food On the Move
After less than a year in business, Santo Remedio on Tennyson Street closed, the reasoning centered around the building’s structural issues. Lucky for us, we don’t have to wait any longer. The Mexican restaurant has found its new home in the former Red Tops Rendezvous location in Jefferson Park, open now. 2917 W. 25th Ave., Denver, santoremediorestaurant.com

Closings
Bye Bye Barbecue
After decades serving Centennial, Bono’s Pit Bar-B-Q announced via social media it will close November 1. The barbecue chain started in 1949 by launching the first location in Jacksonville, Florida. The Centennial shop was the brand’s only Colorado outpost.
A LoHi Chicken Joint Flies Away

After almost 10 years in business, BriDer on Platt Street closed on October 23. The restaurant, founded by Steven Redzikowski and Bryan Dayton, is known for great rotisserie chicken, a fast casual setting, the best kale salad, and really good chocolate chip cookies. Rumor has it the cookies will be available at the team’s other restaurant, Oak at Fourteenth in Boulder.
Ghosted Downtown
Ghost Donkey closed for good on October 19. The mezcal-centric cocktail bar opened behind Union Station in 2021, a fun, bright, and hidden spot that may have been too secret in the end.
Final Pie
One of Denver’s oldest pizza joints shuttered a couple weeks ago. That’s right Giuseppe’s Pizzeria, which was at 5600 W. Dartmouth Ave., served its last pie since opening in 1988 at the end of September. There was no strong reason for the shuttering, the owners simply stated they were done.
