5 Spots to “WFCS” (Work From Coffee Shop)

Dek goes here…

Where better to work than a place with good vibes and readily available caffeination? In this new age of remote work, coffee shops are a place for more than just artists and writers to work from. But, there is nothing worse than getting to your spot and realizing they have no WiFi or available seating. So, we’re taking out the guesswork with our list of best coffee shops to work from:

Aviano Coffee

244 Detroit St, Denver, CO 80206

If you’re posting up in Cherry Creek, check out Aviano Coffee. Inside, you’ll find ample seating, lots of natural light, and WiFi. Aviano is part of the third wave coffee movement and serves up Intelligentsia coffee made to perfection, as well as delicious pastries (we recommend their almond croissant). Perfect for a business meeting or plugging away on a project.

Boxcar Cafe

1825 Pearl St B, Boulder, CO 80302

Heading into Boulder for the day? Boxcar Cafe is your spot. Located on Pearl Street, it has complimentary WiFi, indoor and outdoor seating, and lots of food options. In addition to their own baked goods (gluten-free and vegan options included!) they share the space with Cured, which offers sandwiches, salads, and prepared foods if you’re feeling hungry.

Steam Firehouse Espresso Bar

3600 Tejon St. 80211

As the name alludes to, Steam Espresso Bar transformed a historic firehouse in the Highlands into a cafe. The cafe itself is inviting and spacious, with loads of seating options. If you’re putting out fires at work, might as well do it at an original firehouse!

Improper City

3201 Walnut St, Denver, CO 80205

If you’re looking to set up to work somewhere that can easily transition to happy hour, Improper City is your spot. Start at the coffee bar and then close your laptop to go order from their 36-tap taproom or full bar menu. They also have food trucks, free WiFi, and are dog friendly if your fluffy best friend wants to join.

Crema

2862 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205

This casual-comfort dining spot inspired by hand-crafted, wood-fired cooking specializes in Montreal-style bagels, which are not to be confused with the ones from New York. The dough has both eggs and honey in it, and the water the bagels are boiled in is sweetened with honey as well. Montreal-style bagels are baked in a wood-burning oven, giving them a nice crunchy exterior and chewy interior. At Woodgrain, the bagels are hand-rolled, baked to perfection, and loaded end to end with seeds and spices. They’re warm, salty, and delicious and make for a helluva sandwich bread. Try the Woodsman Loaded Bagel Sandwich, piled high with your choice of ham, bacon or sausage, two scrambled eggs, cheddar, avocado, arugula, and tomato on your choice of wood-fired bagel of your choice. The breakfast potatoes served with it are a tasty bonus.
