Join us Thursday, February 8th for an exclusive opportunity to peek behind the scenes of Que Bueno Suerte!’s kitchen. Experience a day in the life of its talented executive chef, Katie Gisbert as she demonstrates all the demands of her professional role running a kitchen, as well as giving us a glimpse of her personal life with her daughter, Gigi.

Located on Pearl Street near the intersection of E. Florida Avenue, Que Bueno Suerte! offers a fusion of traditional and modern Mexican cuisine, reflected not only in its menu but also in its vibrant decor. Upon entering, take in the bold Mexican colors and artwork and the striking chandelier above the bar, which also serves as the dining room centerpiece. Beyond the aesthetics, the chef will take your tastebuds on a journey through the menu.

Gisbert describes Que Bueno Suerte’s cuisine as classic, authentic, and elevated. In the kitchen, the atmosphere is infused with an alternative pop vibe, featuring musical artists such as Avril Lavigne, Paramore, and Ellie Goulding. Gisbert personally recommends the chile relleno, praising its authenticity in plating and describing the dish as an “egg white-dipped, lightly-fried stuffed roasted poblano pepper that’s so cheesy and reminds me of home.” As for a refreshing libation, she reveals the secret menu order, the Pineapple Paloma.

Outside of work, the chef enjoys experimenting with various cuisines, from Asian to Indian, and drawing inspiration from her grocery store trips. Her dedication to motherhood is evident as she frequents family-friendly establishments such as Esters (three locations), Dave & Buster’s, Benihana’s, and Gigi’s favorite spot, the Downtown Aquarium. Together, they explore trampoline parks, the zoo, Elitch Gardens, and museums.

But when she needs to unwind, you might catch Gisbert at Pioneer Bar on Broadway, perhaps belting out a karaoke song or two.

Tune in to DiningOut’s IG stories all day tomorrow, Thursday, February 8, to delve deeper into chef Katie Gisbert’s world, Que Bueno Suerte, and the characters that populate her daily life. Don’t miss out on the chance to enter for a chance to win a $100 gift card.
