Housed Working & Healthy Gala at Space Annex

Denver nonprofit Housed Working & Healthy helps provide homeless individuals with skills to help them get jobs, stable income, and housing. This week the organization highlights its work with a celebratory gala from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Space Annex. The Big Stir Festival

Hosted by Les Dames d’Escoffier, eat, drink, learn, and mingle all for a good cause this Saturday. From 2 to 5 p.m., each $65 ticket gets you access to a venue full of wine, spirits, and local food makers as they pour and feed you. There’s also a comedy drag show and a handful of lectures featuring medicinal mushrooms, Portuguese wine, and the making of grain-to-bottle spirits. All proceeds go to help the non-profit provide scholarships for women entering the food, drink, agriculture, and hospitality industry. Cheese Class at Denver Botanic Garden

Join Mike Keuler of So Damn Gouda for a Cheese 101 class. From 5 to 6 p.m., students will learn how cheese is made, the different categories, and how the food evolved.
