Welcome to April, when Denver’s culinary scene is heating up as quickly as the temps. With more events than days on the calendar this month, there’s no excuse not to take your tastebuds out to play. We’ve come out of a winter hibernation ravenous and ready to roll, rounding up different ways to feed the cravings that piled up all winter long, like Saturday morning traffic on I-70. There’s much to do, taste, and explore across Denver’s ever-evolving culinary landscape. This means there’s no excuse not to indulge in the season’s fresh flavors, so cheers to you, cheers to us, and cheers to a calendar packed with all sorts of delicious cheer. Now get out there and enjoy it.

Apr. 10: Big Gay Dinner @ Colorado Campfire Uptown

The Big Gay meetup group, an eclectic ensemble of guys (with all genders welcome), offers a delightful alternative to Denver’s conventional social scene. Their monthly gatherings involve lively chatter, good food, and a smattering of culturally or physically engaging activities. For April’s rendezvous, Colorado Campfire Uptown plays host, luring with its campground-themed ambiance and locally-sourced meats, beers, and spirits. The pièce de résistance? A cozy, bonfire-lit covered patio is reserved exclusively for the group.

Chef Billie takes the reins, demonstrating how to craft Avalanche Amber Ale-braised sauerkraut brimming with house-smoked pork and sausage. The meal includes a presentation of this scrumptious recipe, a brewery tour, and a generous supply of Breck brews. At $45 per ticket, this savory soirée is a steal. Reserve your spot via Tock.

Apr. 12: Mean Girls Night at Millers & Rossi

Get in loser, we’re going to Millers & Rossi. Embrace your inner plastics and slip into your pinkest ensemble for the ultimate Mean Girl’s Night on April 12. Indulge in a best-movie-ever-themed cocktail menu and food specials that would make even Regina George envious. The movie starts at 7 pm, so don’t be tardy for the party. Reservations (via Tock) are a must—nobody wants to sit at the back with the art freaks, do they? Don’t be fooled by the storefront – this speakeasy-style lounge is the hippest gathering spot in RiNo. With a striking cocktail menu (hello, Glen Coco!) and a gallery showcasing local artists, Millers & Rossi is the groolest.

Apr. 14: Après Ski Party at FIRE Chalet

Break out your 80s neon ski gear and kick off the patio season in style at Fire at the Art Hotel during an event that’ll transport you straight into the Hot Tub Time Machine. The party promises live music, patio games, and a vintage ski lift or gondola for snapping those gram-worthy pics. Be sure to arrive early – the first 25 tickets sold will go into a drawing for a complimentary one-night stay at the ART Hotel and breakfast for two. General Admission Ski Lift Ticket ($25) comes with a welcome drink to help you get into the 80s groove. But if you’re looking for something more exclusive, go for the Private Ski Cabana Lift Ticket ($200) and enjoy a private cabana on the patio for six people.
