This week, as summer continues to blaze on, Denver offers an abundance of opportunities to indulge in delightful culinary experiences. From exquisite dining to refreshing beverages, there’s no shortage of ways to savor the town in style. Without further ado, here are our top picks for the week’s finest gastronomic events in Denver.

Aug. 1: Trivia Night @ Basically Everywhere

Location: The Rouge Wine Bar & Patio – Everywhere

Tuesdays are for tacos, of course, but it’s also for trivia and other sorts of fun and games. There’s Tuesday Night Bingo at Grandma’s House; Trivia Tuesdays at College Inn, Platte River Bar & Grill, Doghouse Tavern, Red Swing Brewhouse, and Blue Spruce Brewing Company. The venerable organization “Geeks Who Drink” host Trivia Night at Dave and Busters (both the Denver and the Westminster locations), Mudrock’s Tap & Tavern, and Bar 404; and there’s a Trivia Night at FlyteCo, too. Get out there and put your knowledge to the test. 

Aug. 2: Sugar Pine Farm Dinner @ Lyons Farmette

Location: Lyons Farmette4121 Ute Highway, Lyons

At the one-of-a-kind Lyons Farmette, surrounded by adorable animals and blooming flowers aplenty, the Sugar Pine catering chefs are marrying their culinary passions with the bounty of Boulder County to create a multicourse slow-food meal. For the paltry price of $100 per person, you’ll enjoy incredible food, heartfelt hospitality, and live music entertainment. The farm dinner benefits Locally Haiti, which will be selling wine and beer by the bottle or glass to complement the menu.

Aug. 3: Avanti Movie Night @ Avanti F and B

Location: Avanti F&B3200 Pecos St.

Every Thursday through mid-September, Avanti invites you to grab a seat on the patio for specialty drinks, food specials, and free movies under the stars. On the screen this week is cult-classic Office Space. We can’t promise that the staff at the restaurants—22 Provisions, Amá Modern Mexican, Bowls by KO, Gorlami Pizza, Knockabout Burgers, Pho King Rapidos; and Quiero Arepas among them—will be wearing all their flair, but we certainly can hope. Aug. 4: Denver Modernism Series @ Tom’s Starlight 

Location: Tom’s Starlight 601 E. Colfax Ave.

Kick off the Modernism series with Docomomo at a happy hour and presentation at Tom’s Starlight. The $40 ticket gets you a drink and snacks. The evening’s presenters: Josh Robinson, senior project designer at Kephart Architects and president of Docomomo Colorado. He’s also the designer behind Tom’s Starlight’s recent renovation, which was a major preservation win for Colorado in 2019. Joining Robinson will be Tom Messina, owner of Tom’s Starlight. Aug. 5: Rosé All Day @ Ultreia

Location: Orchid Denver 1701 Wynkoop Street, #125

Paella. Pink wine. Patio. What’s not to love? This Union Station hot spot from Chef Jen Jasinski is hosting an all-day patio party where they’ll be showcasing 15 different blush blends alongside the restaurant’s famous paella. Tickets are a mere $59—a steal, really. You should get one via Tock.

Aug. 6: 8th Anniversary Pig Roast @ The Bluegrass Coffee & Bourbon Lounge

Location: Bluegrass Coffee & Bourbon Lounge 7415 Grandview Ave., Arvada

The Bluegrass is going big for its eighth anniversary. Starting at 2 p.m., the Olde Town Arvada destination is throwing a party with all the fixings: live music, drink specials, and plates piled high with roasted pig. Maker’s Mark is sponsoring the event, so expect some big prizes, free giveaways, and a photo booth. They’ll be sampling and selling bottles of the brand-new Maker’s Mark Private Collection “Big Jim Energy”—and engraving said bottles for anyone who makes the purchase.
