March 2023: Food and Drink Events in Denver

March is a month for foodies in Denver, with a variety of events featuring delicious dishes and beverages to satisfy any craving. From tastemaker dinners to oyster festivals, there’s something for everyone. Here are some of the most exciting food and drink events happening in Denver all month long.

March 1: Tastemaker Dinner with Lorena Tosetto of Petrussa @ Frasca Food and Wine
Join Lorena Tosetto, the mastermind behind the tiny but mighty Petrussa winery, for an evening of sipping on some truly exceptional wines. From the aromatic Schioppettino to the nuanced “Rosso Petrussa” merlot, you’ll taste some of the world’s finest wines and get a chance to geek out with the rockstar winemaker herself. March 2: CineChef @ Boulder International Film Festival

Watch as seven award-winning Colorado chefs battle it out in a friendly competition by creating screen-worthy bites inspired by some of their favorite films. This event kicks off the Boulder International Film Festival weekend and promises live music, drinks, and a sweet ending to a night full of deliciousness. And the best part? March 2: Belle Glos TasteMaker Dinner @ Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse 

Get a dose of elegance and refinement at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse’s first TasteMaker Dinner of 2023, featuring Belle Glos pinot noirs from the portfolio of Joe Wagner. It’s a feast for the senses that’s totally worth the $130 price of entry. Reservations can be made via Open Table Experiences.

March 2: Zuccardi Wine Dinner @ Fogo de Chao 

Get ready to feast like royalty at Fogo de Chao’s upcoming Zuccardi Wine Dinner. For just $89 per person, you’ll be treated to a four-course Churrasco experience, all paired with premium wines from the esteemed South American winery, Zuccardi. Think Charcuterie Board with Braised Beef Rib Polenta, Bacon-Wrapped Jalapeño Shrimp Salad, Classic Churrasco Cuts, and Indulgent Churrasco Cuts—including bone-in ribeye and Wagyu New York strip—all paired with Zuccardi wines. March 10: Dragon Boat Film Festival Culinary Experience at Sie FilmCenter

At the Festival Culinary Experience, guests sample food and drinks celebrating a variety of cuisines in the Sie FilmCenter lobby. Light bites and drinks provided by Kokoro, Tea Street, Sap Sua, Ti Cafe, and Colorado Sake. Tickets and info available here

March 12: Bubbles & Pearls at JAX Fish House

It’s time to get shucked up. March is Oyster Month and Jax Fish House is celebrating the mollusk in style with the Pearl Party. Come join the fun and slurp till you drop. Multiple oyster stations will show off the many moods of the beautiful bivalve in a way that only Jax can do. Think passed oyster bites, food stations, and free-flowing bubbles that will make you feel like you’re swimming in the sea. At $85, it’s a deal you can’t pass up. March 14: Blind Tasting Tuesday: Napa vs. Bordeaux @ Trellis Wine Bar

Put your taste buds to the ultimate test and join the fun from 7–8:30 p.m. for a tasting soiree held in the upstairs Canopy. Let the experts guide you through the ins and outs of using visual indicators, aromatic queues, and tasting know-how to discover a new and exciting wine—with no peeking at the label or hints of the origin. It’s like a wine mystery party, but with no need to dress up (unless you want to, of course). The tasting is $62, and you can reserve a spot for $10 via Tock. March 15: Whiskey Wednesday with the Women of Laws

Head to Laws Distillery for a special single barrel bourbon release, selected by the women of Laws. The special Women of Laws Single Barrel distillery exclusive release was hand-selected with input from every woman in the Laws Village. Proceeds from this project will be donated to FrontLine Farming, a BIPOC and Womxn-led nonprofit farm and food justice advocacy organization based in Denver. Tickets and more details available here.

March 17: For the Love of Irish Whiskey at B&GC 

Raise a glass to the Emerald Isle at B&GC and let your palate indulge in the finest whiskeys Ireland has to offer, each paired with traditional small bites. The evening is a culinary journey through Éire and all of its savory traditions. Reserve your spot on Tock ($75), and get ready to say “Sláinte” in the most authentic way possible. It’s a tasting experience that’s sure to leave you feeling lucky.

March 18: Bold Women, Bolder Dishes @ History Colorado Center

It’s Women’s History Month, and History Colorado is honoring the occasion with this cultural and culinary celebration of bold women and bold flavors in Denver. Discover the power of women-owned businesses in the Denver community as TeaLee’s Teashop, Convivio Cafe, and Goldspot Brewing Company take you on a journey of social justice advocacy through their delicious food and drinks. Your ticket includes tastings of tea, coffee, snacks, lunch, and beer, a brief tour of Five Points, and the opportunity to listen to memory-project recordings from residents of North Denver to hear about the history of women in beer. March 22: The Life and Times of Colorado Barbecue @ History Colorado

Fill your evening with smoke, sauce, and saucy stories with James Beard award-winning author Adrian Miller as he takes you on a juicy journey through Colorado’s barbecue traditions. Learn about the pioneers who smoked and sizzled their way into history and pick up some hot tips on how to create your own finger-lickin’ feast. Miller will be signing copies of his book, Black Smoke: African Americans and the United States of Barbecue, so bring your bib and your appetite. March 25: Collaboration Fest @ The Westin Westminster

Hosted by the Colorado Brewers Guild (CBG) and presented by On Tap Credit Union, Collaboration Fest is the original collaboration beer festival that showcases the unique and cooperative culture of Colorado’s craft beer scene. At this Colorado Brewers Guild fundraiser, CBG members team up with independent brewers near and far, sometimes spanning multiple states and even continents, to create one-of-a-kind beers that highlight each brewer’s distinct brewing methods and styles. March 25: JAX Fish House & Oyster Bar’s High West Oyster Fest at Velvet Elk Lounge

Everyone’s favorite night of oyster eating, oyster shucking, and all around jiving is back. The Maine to Mountain: Meet the Farmer VIP hour kicks off at 6 p.m. with free-flowing bubbles and first dibs on the oyster goods, including Maine’s finest mollusks. General admission runs from 7–10 p.m., with all you can eat oysters galore and the annual Oyster Eating & Shucking contest, plus entertainment by Styles Davis. The ticket price includes a Jax Oyster Stout by Post Brewing Co. welcome beer, all you can eat fresh oysters, and heavy appetizers from Jax and The Post. A cash bar will also be available to keep your whistle wet. General admission tix are $100, VIPs are $120; both available via Etix, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit RISE Against Suicide. 

March 26: Counter Culture March at Stoic & Genuine

Join the bivalve brigade and shell out for Stoic & Genuine’s third oyster class of the year. General Manager Aaron Kimble will be imparting pearls of wisdom and showing how to shuck the differences between east coast and west coast bivalves. If you’re feeling fancy, splurge for the optional wine pairing. Tickets are $70 (via Tock) and will land you a dozen of these sea treasures.
