Wed., Oct. 11: Eat, Drink, Sit @ Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art

Location: Kirkland Museum of Fine & Decorative Art – 1201 Bannock St. Denver

The museum of decorating masterpieces and oddities alike keeps its 20th-anniversary celebration going with Eat, Drink, Sit, a salon series where the great design takes center stage. Taking place 6–8 p.m. on Oct. 11, Nov. 8, and Dec. 13, Eat, Drink, Sit unveils the stories and creations of designers from the museum’s Decorative Art collection. Up first in the Eat category: Mary Wright. Each evening includes engaging presentations on renowned female designers, hands-on sensory experiences, and catered light bites and spirited sips.

Thurs., Oct. 12: Adult Spelling Bee @ Adrift

Location: Adrift Tiki Bar – 218 S. Broadway, Denver

Join Adrift for the first of many Adult Spelling Bees—this event is all fun and pretension with lighthearted fun and cheeky humor. Battle it out for awesome prizes and well-deserved bragging rights. Prices include: $100 cash for first place; a $50 gift card to Adrift for the runner-up; and a punchbowl for two for the bronze medalist.

Thurs., Oct. 12: 6 Degrees of Frank Bonanno @ Mizuna

Location: Mizuna – 225 E. 7th Ave. Denver

Omg, I want to go to this one so bad. The DiningOut team has talked about how we want to create a chef flowchart map thing that shows who started in whose kitchen, and bets were placed about who would likely be at the center of it all. Frank Bonanno’s name was at the top of our guest list—nearly every Denver chef or restaurateur can be traced back to their time learning from Frank. This dinner is a culinary celebration that pays homage to Mizuna’s former chefs, with signature courses reimagined by the current Mizuna team to “honor the past, delight you in the present, and give you a taste of Denver’s” delicious “food future.” The chefs in question include Alex Siedel (Fruition, Mercantile), Justin Brunson (Old Major, Masterpiece Deli, Brunson Meat Co.), Ty Leon (Restaurant Olivia), Rebecca Weitzman (Café Star, Ivy on 7th, Logan Street), Jean-Philipe Failyau (Park Burger, Birdcall, Perdida), and Jon Robbins (Bistro Barbés). Tickets are $175 per person to both seatings—5 p.m. and 7 p.m.—but move quickly: the 7 p.m. seating is already sold out. Reserve your spot here.

Thurs., Oct. 12: Haykin Family Ciders Pairing Dinner @ Koko Ni

Location: Koko Ni – 1441 26th St. Denver

For the first in what will be a series of pairing dinners, the French-Japanese omakase-style RiNo hot spot is collaborating with Haykin Family Ciders of Aurora. The seven-course menu for the evening will be inspired by the unique expressions of these single-varietal ciders, and paired with their counterparts from the Haykin portfolio. A seat at this table will also run you $175; reserve yours on Tock.

Fri., Oct. 13–Sun., Oct. 15: One-Year Anniversary Celebration @ Sunroom Brewing

Location: Sunroom Brewing – 3242 S. Acoma St., Englewood

This weekend encapsulates everything that’s made Sunroom what it is: great beer, live music, community fun, delicious food trucks, and the Buffalo Bills. (And you’re looking for a new football team to back, right?) The celebration opens up at noon on Friday, with live music by At the Watchtower starting at 6 p.m. Saturday’s lineup includes local vendors on site, the Murals & Mason Jars community event, and live music by Cottonwood Drifters. As for Sunday, it’s all about the Bills, who take on the New York Giants at 6 p.m. Stop by and congratulate the team on their first trip around the sun.

Fri., Oct. 13: Autumn Cocktails: A Workshop with Apartment Bartender @ The Source

Location: The Source Hotel – 3330 Brighton Blvd. Denver

Shake up your home mixology skills with this 2-hour cocktail class in the RiNo Ballroom led by Elliott Clark of @apartment_bartender. Learn the art of connecting with loved ones over cocktails featuring small batch spirits by Denver’s Ironton Distillery and Crafthouse. Class runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for $75 per person. Register in advance here.

Sat., Oct. 14: Croptoberfest @ Table Public House

Location: Table Public House – 2190 S. Platte River Dr. Denver

Another bountiful growing season, another reason to celebrate. And this celebration entails an Iowa pig roast, craft beer, and live music. Warm up for the party by riding your bike on the “Heine Ride West” beginning and ending right at the Table, an urban far striving to end hunger in Denver. Admission is $30 per adult or $60 per household of 3 or more adults, but only if you can swing it. If not, let them know what you can donate and they’ll welcome you with open arms. Everyone deserves a seat at the table.

Sun., Oct. 15: Gilmore Girls Day @ LUKI

Location: LUKI Brewery  – 14715 W. 64th Ave., Arvada

AEG Presents caught wind that LUKI is throwing this epic event for hardcore Gilmore Girls fans and added a pair of tickets to see Lauren Graham at Trinity Hall during her “Have I Told You This Already” book tour to the prize pot on top of a pile of Gilmore Girls merch the brewery is giving away. And the more you participate in the event, the greater chance you have at winning. Order a Bottomless Founders Day Punch, and get a raffle ticket. Try the GG Healthy Eats Pack, and get a raffle ticket. Purchase an Activity Pack, and get a ticket. Play (and win) Gilmore Girls Trivia, and get lots of tickets. May the odds be forever in your favor.

Sun., Oct. 15: House Party: Space Glam @ Major Tom

Location: Major Tom – 2845 Larimer St. Denver

I know I already said this but omg, I want to go to this one. Major Tom and Champagne Tiger are joining cosmic forces for an all-inclusive space-glam event. Bump, sip, and be among the stars at Major Tom’s first-ever house party, where you’ll eat, drink, dance, and be merry. Expect a luxury spread of champagne, caviar, oysters, tasty snacks, and french fries, with brilliant performances by intergalactic drag icons Pony & Felony Misdemeanor. Costumes are a yes, please. It’s bound to be out of this world. The party starts at 2:30 p.m.; tickets are $110 and can be snagged via Tock.
