Sept. 19–24: Negroni Week

Location: Adrift Tiki Bar – 218 S. Broadway

This week, restaurants all over the world are mixing negronis for a great cause—and you should join the celebration. You can do just that at these participating locations: Deviation Distilling, Nocturne, Point Easy Denver, University Club, Fire Restaurant & Lounge, Hudson Hill, Rioja, ChoLon, Pony Up, Bistro Le Roux, YumCha, Poka Lola Social Club, The Marigold, Urban Farmer, Terminal Bar, Death & Co, Ultreia, Stoic & Genuine, Cart-Driver, Sunday Vinyl, Tavernetta, Gold Point, Room for Milly, El Five, Restaurant Olivia, Occidental, Williams & Graham, Toro, Lady Jane, Uncle Tim’s Cocktails, Side Pony, Bistro Vendôme, American Elm, Voghera Ristorante, Fellow Traveler, Marmalade Lounge, The Benson, Borealis, and Hideaway Steakhouse. Order the classic Italian cocktail at any of these locations, and a portion of your proceeds go to support Slow Food, a global movement of local communities and activists seeking to change the world through food and beverage.

And, fun fact: Did you know there is such a thing as a Rum Negroni? Who better to create this twist on the classic Negroni than Adrift Tiki Bar? The Caribbean Harmony Negroni features a blend of two Carribean rums, Cappelletti Aperitivo, and dry vermouth to produce a deliciously sweet and funky Negroni with a tiki twist. This cocktail will be the featured cocktail for the week!

Sept. 22–Oct. 1: Bees Knees Week @ OAK at Fourteenth

Location: OAK at Fourteenth- 1400 Pearl St., Boulder

As you probably know, Bee’s Knees is a Prohibition-era classic consisting of gin, lemon juice, and honey. Bar Hill Gin launched Bee’s Knees Week—similar to Negroni Week—in 2017 to bring together bars, restaurants, spirit stores, and cocktail fans across the country to spread awareness and protect our bees and other pollinators. It’s now the largest sustainability initiative in the spirits industry. this year’s celebration is taking place Sept. 22–Oct. 1, and OAK at Fourteenth is once again participating (over Negroni Week in fact). They will have a unique spin on the cocktail on their menu during the event—stop by to see what they have in store. Other participating restaurants include Restaurant Olivia, Cart-Driver, Cooper Lounge, Williams + Graham, Hickory + Ash, Blackbelly, and more. Though bees are responsible for 1 in every 3 bites of food, bee populations struggle due to habitat loss, climate change, disease, and more. For every photo shared with #beeskneesweek on social, Bar Hill plants 10 sq feet of new pollinator habitat.
