Though Denver resides over 4,000 miles away from Ireland, there’s plenty of Irish pride circulating around the Mile High City this St. Patrick’s Day. In fact, the Rocky Mountains saw plenty of Irish settlers during the silver boom in the late 1800s, and by the early 1900s many relocated to Denver.
Irish influences remain today, and immigrants can be touted for opening the first school in Colorado at 12th and Market Streets, as well as keeping alive the Irish pubs around town. But whether or not you’re Irish or have Irish heritage, St. Patrick’s Day has become a holiday celebrated by everyone. Check out these festive events in Denver, and get ready for lots of good food, green beer, and lucky parties around town.
