A handful of Atlanta restaurants are keeping the art of tableside service very much alive, turning classic dishes into interactive, right-before-your-eyes experiences. In an era where convenience often replaces connection, these spots offer something far more memorable: a bit of theater with your meal, a moment of interaction, and a reminder that dining out can still feel special.

Below, find two takes on bananas foster flambéed right in front of you, several Caesar salads tossed tableside, and a few other gems proving that these experiences are always worth the trip.

It’s all in the name at Chops & Lobster Bar, a Buckhead favorite for couples and corporate-card crowds seeking Prime steaks and great seafood. Here, the classic steak tartare parisienne is prepared tableside with micro watercress and toast points for crunch. We can only hope it’ll be on the menu at the Centennial Yards location, slated to open later this year. 70 W. Paces Ferry Rd. NW, Atlanta, chopslobsterbar.com

Southern Belle

If you want drama with your dessert, look no further than Southern Belle. The Michelin-recommended restaurant flambés its bananas foster on a Delta service cart, fire soaring high above the blend of ASW Fiddler bourbon, Biscoff crumble, vanilla ice cream, caramel, and a whole lot of brown sugar. 1043 Ponce De Leon Ave., Atlanta, southernbelleatl.com

Craving sweets over steak? The sundae board at this restaurant inside the InterContinental Buckhead offers a high-end, deconstructed take on the classic ice cream social. To create your treat, choose from the nine different toppings presented at your table—think waffle cone crumbles, whipped cream, and two types of cherries. 3315 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, theamericanoatlanta.com

Tre Vele

The cacio e pepe at this elegant Italian eatery in Sandy Springs enjoys viral fame for good reason: it’s prepared tableside in a giant Parmigiano Reggiano wheel and plated while still piping hot. Watch as a generous helping of Pecorino Romano is grated atop the homemade noodle with Sarawak black pepper and lemon zest. 6017 Sandy Springs Cir., Sandy Springs, treveleatl.com

Gunshow

The menu is constantly changing at this Michelin-recommended Glenwood Park restaurant, where chefs and cooks hand-present a dozen or so dishes to you at the table. Cocktails are also prepared on a rolling bar cart. It’s similar to a tasting menu—you never know what you’re going to get, but that’s the beauty of Gunshow. 924 Garrett St., Atlanta, gunshowatl.com

Kurt’s Euro Bistro

Although Kurt Eisele passed away last year, his spirit lives on in the bananas foster at his eponymous bistro. The classic Southern dessert stands out on a menu that’s mostly faithful to Kurt’s native Germany, but Kurt loved to flambé the bananas himself tableside—and likely prepared tens of thousands of them over the years. 3305 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Ste. 100, Duluth, kurtsrestaurant.com

Brasserie Margot

Inside the Four Seasons, Brasserie Margot’s steak tartare and Dover sole meunière serve as masterclasses in presentation—the former’s hand-cut prime beef filet, egg yolk, and house dressing all artfully assembled by the table. For dessert, the crêpes aux canneberges et à l’orange are also flambéed in front of you and finished with a pour of rich Diplomático rhum. 75 14th St. NE, Atlanta, brasseriemargot.com

Little Sparrow

The more laid-back counterpart to Marcel, Little Sparrow delivers some of the city’s best French tableside experiences. Highlights include a Dover sole meunière, expertly fileted in front of you and finished with brown butter and capers; classic raclette service; sauces poured over scallops, mezzaluna, and halibut; and a showstopping rum baba presentation for dessert. 1198 Howell Mill Rd., Ste. 18, Atlanta, littlesparrowatl.com

Marcel

At Ford Fry’s acclaimed West Midtown steakhouse, the Caesar salad is prepared à la minute  and tossed in a wooden bowl by the table so you can adjust the dressing precisely to your taste. And if you’re tired of bananas foster, watch as the signature baked Alaska with sour cream cake and strawberry ice cream is expertly torched tableside for a dramatic finish. 1170 Howell Mill Rd., Atlanta, marcelatl.com

Prime 120

Steak is the name of the game at Prime 120, but its famed tableside Caesar for two holds its own. Prepared in front of you and tossed with Parmigiano Reggiano, an anchovy-garlic dressing, and croutons, it serves as a solid prelude to heartier entrees and is totally worth the trip to Downtown Woodstock. 120 Chambers St., Woodstock, prime120steakhouse.com
