Every year, Atlanta lights up for Diwali, the Festival of Lights and one of India’s biggest celebrations. This year, the five-day festival runs November 6–10, with a packed calendar of events and plenty of ways to join in the festivities.

Diwali is a time to gather with loved ones and celebrate the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Between family dinners and exchanging sweets, festivities often extend to melas, lively community fairs that bring friends and neighbors together. Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or looking to celebrate with hundreds of fellow revelers, mark your calendar for these Diwali events around Atlanta.
