The new year brings a fresh start, buzzing with renewed energy and intention. For many, Dry January is the perfect reset. It offers a window into sobriety for the ever-growing sober-curious community, and for others, a detox from the booze-heavy holidays.

Alcohol-free doesn’t mean sacrificing the craft of mixology. Dallas bars and restaurants are embracing spirit-free menus—from zero- and low-proof pop-ups with nationally celebrated bars to year-round destinations where cocktails deliver full flavor without the spirits.

Here is a guide to where to sip sober in Dallas during Dry January, and all year long.

Mirador

Mirador is hitting the reset button in lavish style. The Downtown penthouse restaurant steps into 2026 with wellness in mind, beginning with a health-conscious menu refresh including crudo, a farro bowl, lobster Cobb salad, and chicken paillard. Power lunch with one of three refreshing spirit-free mocktails such as the Main Squeeze, a mix of passion fruit, coconut, orgeat, and citrus, finished with a splash of Topo Chico. Mineral water keeps things fizzy in the Citrus Sparkler, a bright blend of berry cordial, citrus, and mint; while the Smoked Milk Tea is a stunner, layering Fujian Province smoked lapsang souchong with creamy coconut milk, rosemary honey, strawberry, and lime. 1608 Elm St., Dallas, mirador-dallas.com

Beyond the Bar

At Beyond the Bar, zero-proof sipping isn’t reserved for January, it’s a lifestyle. The Richardson dry bar and bottleshop is the first of its kind in Texas. The shop is stocked with nonalcoholic wine, spirits, beers, and bitters, but most importantly, it has cultivated a space where sobriety is the norm. The alcohol-free hub has become a third space where select Saturdays are dedicated to Soberoke and cocktail classes are alcohol-free. Here, mimosas pour freely with Lyre’s Classico and midnight toasts are full of bubbles with no hangovers in sight. 101 S. Sherman St., Richardson, beyondthebar.square.site

Glamorous New York City transplant, Catch is making espresso martinis accessible to all. Known for sushi, steak, and seafood, the Uptown hotspot is giving the bold sip a Dry January-ready makeover. The sober-friendly version is crafted with vanilla-forward Lyre’s Coffee Originale, a nonalcoholic coffee liqueur, salted vanilla, and coconut water. Other zero-proof offerings include the watermelon mojito made with citrusy alcohol-free Seedlip Grove 42, a lychee martini, a makrut lime spritz, and Athletic Brewing Co.’s Upside Dawn nonalcoholic beer. 3005 Maple Ave., Dallas, catchrestaurants.com

Catbird

Manhattan’s East Village sophistication meets Dallas glamour for a spirit-free rendezvous. On Monday, January 12, acclaimed New York City bar Death & Co.’s Washington outpost will pop up at Thompson Dallas’ Catbird from 6 to 9 p.m. Known for its innovative and technique-driven cocktails, the bar will showcase the flavor-driven world of ABV-free and low-ABV cocktails through its precise mixology. The alcohol-free lineup includes Bullet Train, a blend of Lyre’s Italian Orange, hemp-based botanical spirit the Pathfinder, the lemongrass notes of Seedlip Grove 42, ginger, and Leitz Eins Zwei Zero Sparkling Blanc de Blanc. Lyre’s American Malt mixes with coconut milk, carrot, vanilla and lemon for the Beach Ritual mocktail; while Faded Ember highlights Lyre’s Dark Rum and coffee liqueur with Seedlip Grove 42, lapsang souchong tea, and demerara. Three low-ABV cocktails will also be available. 1401 Elm St., Dallas, catbirddallas.com

Western Addition helms two of Dallas’ most iconic neighborhood restaurants: Park Cities’ Il Bracco and Preston Hollow’s Bobbie’s Airway Grill. Both institutions are known for The Bracco, a frozen Greyhound-style cocktail made with Aperol and Ruby Red grapefruit. The mocktail menu is an if-you-know-you-know situation that’s well worth the ask. Off-menu zero-proof cocktails include the No-Groni, a balanced blend of Luxardo cherry, orange and tonic; a brown sugar Faux-spresso Martini; the citrusy cranberry and basil Western Breeze; and a classic virgin mojito. Radici Wood Fired Grill

MasterChef judge and chef Tiffany Derry’s Radici Wood Fired Grill is ringing in the new year with clear vision. Both the Farmers Branch and Grand Prairie locations offer a year-round zero-proof menu, featuring drinks like the Phony Mezcal Negroni and Shirley Black. On Thursday, January 15, Radici hosts “No Blurred Lines: A New Year Reset Experience,” a one-night event pairing Ritual Zero Proof cocktails, with bites from Derry’s kitchen, plus a vision-board workshop led by Envision Art Dallas director Sarah Kephart. The ticketed event is $75 and begins at 6 p.m., with proceeds supporting Envision Art Dallas, a local nonprofit benefitting the visually impaired. 2979 State Hwy. 161, Grand Prairie, radiciwoodfiredgrill.com

Ginger’s sits on the subterranean level within the refreshed East Quarter development, offering an elegant bar that walks the line between laid-back and refined. The menu features a dedicated 0% cocktail section, with standouts like the Low Fashioned, an old-fashioned riff made with Scottish zero-proof Feragaia, chai demerara, and alcohol-free orange bitters. Feragaia also takes center stage in the Feragaia Spice, mixed with lemon, honey, and ginger. Gucci Slides spotlights botanical elixir Three Spirits Livener alongside green tea, yuzu, and Topo Chico. There’s also Copenhagen Sparkling Tea Lysegrøn, French Bloom Le Blanc, and Origami Zero sake to round out the alcohol-free offerings. 2115 Jackson St., Dallas, gingersdallas.com

Al Biernat’s

A stiff old fashioned, Manhattan, or martini has long gone hand in hand with Dallas’ steak-and-potatoes dining scene. Iconic steakhouse Al Biernat’s is widening those horizons. In January, pair a luxurious three-tier chilled seafood tower, escargot and tortellini, or Japanese Wagyu Hokkaido strip with mindful drinking. Al Biernat’s sober-friendly lineup includes a Cranberry Punch and Watermelon Mint Cooler. The Apple Ginger Mule leans cocktail-forward with Seedlip Grove 42, apple cider, lemon, cinnamon, and Lady Bird Key Lime Ginger Beer. The Espresso-Nontini also features Seedlip Grove 42, shaken with espresso and vanilla syrup.Multiple locations, albiernats.com

At the heart of Sanjh is togetherness, and for the inventive Indian restaurant, that includes spirit-free sipping. Globally renowned mixologist Yangdup Lama’s bar program includes a dedicated section for sober diners. Mocktails range from the refreshing NH-44, made with green apple, mint, cucumber, and soda, to Rose Pista Lassi and a cardamom-spiced Crossover Cooler. Masala Monk blends spiced chai syrup with reduced pineapple juice, salt, and lime; while Noor-E-Naaz delights with a floral mix of lychee juice, rose, coconut water, acid solution, and soda. 5250 N. O’Connor Blvd., Ste. 146, Irving, sanjhrestaurant.com

Muchacho

The elite trio of chips, queso, and an ice-cold margarita is hard to beat. Muchacho makes the experience one that all can enjoy with the Mock-a-Rita. The Dallas Tex-Mex staple uses hibiscus-infused Lyre’s Tequila Alternative with lime and agave for a sober-friendly indulgence. The zero-proof menu also includes a No-Fashioned, No-Groni Sbagliato, and Serene-Tea, an invigorating blend of pear, green tea, grenadine, and lemon. Multiple locations, muchachotexmex.com
