Happy Pride! Denver Pride’s history goes back over 50 years, and today, Denver has one of the largest, most enthusiastic, and vibrant Pride celebrations in the United States.
Pride in Denver began in 1974, when just a few dozen activists gathered for a “gay-in” picnic in Cheesman Park. The following year, Denver’s first annual Pride Parade was held, and today, our fine city celebrates with Denver PrideFest, the third-largest Pride festival and the seventh-largest Pride parade anywhere in the country.
But that’s not the only thing going on in the Mile High City, there’s plenty to do to celebrate all June long. No matter what you decide to do, have a blast and support the LGBTQIA+ community.
