We’re closing out an epic season of DiningOut Events with a blow-out bash at Elitch Gardens on Thursday, August 24. Chicken Fight! is an adults-only smorgasbord of all-you-can-eat, all-you-can-drink, all-you-can-ride mayhem, complete with a Dessert Disco and five stages of country and bluegrass music taking over Denver’s most iconic amusement park. If that’s not enough to entice you, here are some details that will:

The amazing food!

Chefs from 45 of the city’s top restaurants compete for your vote as we look to crown the best in chicken wings, fried chicken, bourbon chicken, chicken tacos, chicken sandwiches—ok, everything chicken! We’re talking about restaurants like Fire on the Mountain, Guard and Grace, Lil Yellow Chick, and Brider. Plus The Post, Welton Room, and Koco Street Food, too. Basically, we’ve got the best of the best bringing their A-game in hopes of being crowned the very best of all. And you’ll get to enjoy unlimited samples of each delicious bite.

The bottomless drinks!

This 21+ party entails a massive craft cocktail competition—and you can try them all. Probably shouldn’t try them all, though, ‘cause there’s gonna be a lot of them. The city’s most elite bartenders are matched with top spirits and tasked with creating a concoction that not only pairs perfectly with the food but also knocks your socks off. (Not that you’ll necessarily be wearing socks since it’s summer at an amusement park. I thought about saying that the drinks will blow your hair back but that’s what the No. 3 reason you should go to Chicken Fight! will do.)

Oh, and there’s bottomless ice-cold beer and refreshments, too.

The unlimited rides!

When we take over Elitch Gardens, we go big. And this year, we’re going bigger than ever. During this one-night-only extravaganza, we’ve got the run of the park—and all the rides will be in full swing. (But not the water park because you remember the rule: no swimming for one hour after eating and we’re gonna be eating all night.) Take a trip Down Under on the Boomerang steel coaster, lose your mind on the seven-story Brain Drain thrill loop, hit the Half Pipe, and get blasted on the Mind Eraser. You’re free to ride the rides until your dopamine is depleted.

The killer live music!

At the theme park, there’s a stage around every corner, and we’re filling them with some killer live country, bluegrass, and blues music from some of Denver’s favorite local bands. Come prepared to rock out.

The Dessert Disco!

High rollers can roll themselves right into a sugar-coated world of shimmering fun at this year’s Chicken Fight! VIP Experience, where sweet treats meet funky beats. VIP ticket holders have access to an exclusive private dance party spiked with confections and set to the beat of renowned DJ Simone Says spinning a blend of dance hits spanning eras. As for the desserts, expect a smorgasbord of ice cream, pies, chocolates, churros, and more—and it’s a competition among confectioners to boot. VIP voters get to help crown a King or Queen of the Dance.

The happy people!

Seriously, have you seen photos from past Chicken Fight? Fests? Take a look at the albums on Facebook and just try to find a person who’s not smiling. Everyone’s happy. Everyone’s grooving. Everyone’s having a good time. And you like good times, right?

The fun!

You like fun, too.

The adults!

Everyone deserves a night away from the underage, and this food fight for the ages is strictly 21+.

The summer is almost over!

This is one of your last chances to get out there and make the most of it. Or do you think you already had enough fun this summer and don’t need any more of it? If that’s the case, I think you’re wrong and nobody likes being wrong.

The winners!

After you’ve sampled your way through the chicken-fried festivities, you’ll get to cast your vote for the bite that beat them all. At the same time, we’ll have a slew of expert judges tasting their way through the tables, too. At the end of the night, we’ll tally those votes and reveal the spots that beat out the rest to earn the top titles in this chicken and cocktail championship. Vote like it matters—because to the hard-working chefs and bartenders who power this festival, it absolutely does. And when top chefs compete, we all win.
