Houston is getting ready for its international close-up as one of the U.S. host cities for the FIFA World Cup 2026. The tournament will run from Thursday, June 11 through Sunday, July 19, bringing soccer fans from around the globe to North America and putting Houston squarely in the spotlight.
Here in Houston, NRG Stadium—home of our beloved Texans—will host seven World Cup matches between Sunday, June 14 and Saturday, July 4. During the tournament, the venue will temporarily be known as Houston Stadium, welcoming supporters from around the world for some of the sport’s biggest moments.
The excitement won’t be limited to match days. Across the city, fans can take part in watch parties, festivals, family-friendly soccer activities and fútbol-inspired celebrations as Houston embraces its role on the world stage.

FIFA Fan Festival
Popping up in Houston’s East End neighborhood for 39 days, this massive outdoor party will run during the full course of the tournament, from Thursday, June 11 through Sunday, July 19. There will be plenty of entertainment and activities for fans of all ages. Admission is free, but attendees are limited to 7,500 persons at a time, with the grounds opening 90 minutes before each match. Hours of operation will be updated on the website regularly.
Giant screens will show the matches, while a projection dome, Esphera, provides an immersive experience inside. Expect live performances from acts like Trae tha Truth, Baby Bash, Mike Jones, and Mariachis Las Chabelitas; plus hands-on activities at the Aramco Arena, a synthetic turf soccer field. Misters and free water-refilling stations will help keep visitors cool, and a multitude of food vendors, including Asian Streetness, the Burger Joint, Pink’s Pizza, and the Waffle Bus, will offer sustenance to guests.
In addition to the free spaces within the fan fest, there will be Club 104 with ticketed admission, which grants access to an air-conditioned space with water, soft drinks, private bathrooms, seating, and a cash bar. The Ranch Presents Pitch Live
Benjamin Berg, of Berg Hospitality, has joined forces with hospitality pro, Army Sadeghi, and soccer legend, Brian Ching, to create a 35,000 square-foot World Cup destination at the gateway of the official FIFA Fan Festival. The trio have transformed the former Warehouse Live entertainment hall into a mix of concepts, featuring Texas-inspired dining, a main stage with several public bars, and a private VIP lounge with its own entrance. Along with the plethora of TV screens, there will be a huge outdoor display, broadcasting matches from around the world. The World Cup pop-up will debut Thursday, June 11 with a live performance from Grammy Award-winning artist and producer Diplo. Cuchara
Whether you’re Chilango or not, this vibrant restaurant oozes with the flavors and energy of Mexico City. The restaurant will be cheering on its home team on Thursday, June 11, beginning at 2 p.m. for the opening day of the World Cup, with free noisemakers for Mexico supporters and complimentary shots of Centenario tequila every time Mexico scores a goal. This green space is the heart of Downtown when conventions, sports games, and World Series parades are in session. Texas grocery giant H-E-B is sponsoring a special soccer celebration, from Sunday, June 14 through Sunday, July 19, throughout the park. Among the highlights is the Sunday concerts for Houston’s Summer of Soccer. Each Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., attendees can enjoy live music, local food trucks, and a variety of vendors. For rabid fans of Het Oranje Legioen, this West Houston bar is the main meeting place of the Orange Army, or Netherlands supporters. During the World Cup, it will be Holland House by Heineken. In honor of the soccer takeover, Chapman & Kirby is extending its daily operating hours from 8 a.m. to midnight (and possibly even later if the party continues). Local coffee shop, Slowpokes, will begin the day with a special breakfast station, while rotating food purveyors like EXILIO Street Tacos and True Dog Houston will pop up. There are four locations of this 21 and up sports bar across Houston that have huge indoor and outdoor spaces for viewing the slew of World Cup matches. Owner Raz Halili is a massive soccer fan and former player for Houston Baptist University.
