Chef Jason Ryczek’s menu at Little’s Oyster Bar in Montrose focuses on seasonal ingredients and sustainable sourcing, with everything from fresh oysters, jumbo blue crab, and creative crudo options to lobster, Gulf fish, and beautifully composed entrées. This beloved family-owned Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of East Downtown opened a second location in August, giving diners until the end of the year to enjoy both before the original outpost closes. The menu remains rooted in the dishes that have made the restaurant a longtime favorite, including the signature duck salad, Phoenix chicken and mi quang, while new additions such as bo la lot and lettuce wraps bring something fresh to the table. The Upper Kirby location strikes a balance between the restaurant’s familiar warmth and a more polished, contemporary aesthetic. The Midtown neighborhood spot has entered a new chapter under chef Omar Pereney of Love Croissants, who took over operations earlier this year, and refreshed the menu with expanded brunch offerings and seasonal dishes infused with Latin flavors. Mack Allen’s recently debuted on the first floor of the 28-story 5POP office tower, occupying the entire 16,000-square-foot space. Founded by restaurateur Mack McDonald, the restaurant serves New American cuisine, with starters ranging from smoked duck combo and oysters Rockefeller to entrées featuring prime beef and American wagyu. A raw bar offers sushi and caviar, while a wine collection of approximately 1,000 bottles and a robust spirits program round out the experience.
