Atlanta is a hub of creativity, and all that hustle has to happen somewhere. While working from home in your sweatpants has its perks, sometimes you need a change of scenery—and a really great cup of coffee. That’s where Atlanta’s thriving craft coffee scene comes in. From independent cafés serving house-made pastries to local chains with sprawling patios, these are some of the best coffee shops in Atlanta for remote work.

Summit Coffee

This North Carolina-based coffee shop recently expanded to Atlanta, bringing its creative coffee menu and a convivial atmosphere to neighborhoods across the city. Each location (Emory Village, Brookhaven, Dunwoody, and Roswell) has its own personality, with all offering plenty of comfortable seating, free WiFi, and fresh pastries, including an excellent almond croissant. Keep an eye out for seasonal flavors that range from Cinnamon Toast Crunch iced coffee to peppermint mocha hot chocolate. Multiple locations, summitcoffee.com

Dancing Goats Coffee

A hometown favorite since 1994, Dancing Goats has expanded to encompass six in-town locations. The Ponce City Market outpost is a popular remote work pick for its expansive patio with ample seating, but all offer expertly roasted coffee as well as non-coffee options like Firepot teas, matcha, and chai, alongside breakfast sandwiches and pastries. An app helps you rack up rewards and even order ahead so you can skip the line and get down to business. Multiple, dancinggoats.com

You’ll find a handful of Perc Coffee locations around town, and each has a pop art-inspired look and quirky vibe that makes working from a laptop feel a little less monotonous. Each space pairs free WiFi with thoughtful seating (banquettes and communal tables with outlets), plus a patio for sunlit breathing room. The espresso bar has all the essentials, including seasonal lattes, matcha, cold brew, and hearty fuel like breakfast sandwiches, granola bowls, and crunchwraps. Multiple locations, perccoffee.com

Momo Cafe

Tucked inside a low-key Midtown plaza, Momo Cafe specializes in Japanese flavors, including matcha-strawberry concoctions, black sesame lattes, teas, Japanese-style pastries, and soft serve. Grab a drink and a mochi donut, and head upstairs to the cozy nook to take advantage of peace, quiet, and free WiFi. You can even grab lunch at the attached Japanese counter-service restaurant, Momonoki, without unplugging your laptop. 95 8th St. NW, Atlanta, momonokiatl.com

Muchacho

Muchacho feels like a 1970s Venice Beach fever dream, and it isn’t your typical coffee shop. Bright colors, vintage decor, and lush plants (indoors and outdoors) showcase this Reynoldstown spot’s big personality, while a menu of tacos, brunch burritos, and hearty bowls keeps you full and focused. Of course, there’s free WiFi and plenty of coffee as well as horchata and agua frescas for those looking to cut back on caffeine. 904 Memorial Dr. SE, Atlanta, muchacho.com

This Downtown Decatur favorite feels like a cozy writer’s nook straight out of a Hallmark movie. The warm, bookish atmosphere invites lingering over your laptop (there’s free WiFi, of course), while a full menu of drip coffees, matchas, teas, smoothies, pastries, and afternoon sandwiches helps you power through marathon working sessions. By night, the place transitions to a wine bar, but you’ll have to shut your laptop to enjoy this after-hours ambiance. 429 Church St., Decatur, thereadingroomatl.com

Sweet Hut

When you just can’t stomach another coffee, Sweet Hut’s massive menu of milk teas, frappes, and fruit slushes offers something refreshingly different. With locations in Midtown, Buckhead, Chamblee, Duluth, and Marietta, the pink Korean-style cafe specializes in sweet and savory pastries, but also provides ample seating, plenty of outlets, free WiFi, and a just-buzzy-enough atmosphere to make working remotely feel fun again. Daydreamer Coffee

Delightfully retro interiors packed with nooks and crannies make Daydreamer Coffee’s two Atlanta-area locations a favorite of remote workers. Leafy wood-and-leather decor soothes you into focus while the free WiFi and plentiful outlets make it easy to plug in and grind out work. Grab a honey-oat latte, blueberry matcha, or seasonal specialty (and a pastry) and rotate between cozy corners. Multiple locations, daydreamer.coffee

With two locations in Armour Yards and Poncey-Highland, East Pole is a local favorite for its house-roasted beans, but it’s the vibes that keep remote workers coming back. Bright, airy interiors and a yellow umbrella-studded patio ensure you can always find a seat, while free WiFi keeps you buzzing along. Bonus: There’s free parking, if you can snag a spot. Bloom Coffee Co.

This woman-owned coffee shop in Buckhead was built to be a third space. With free parking, free WiFi, and plenty of outlets, the cozy green-hued cafe serves up specialty lattes and seasonal sips crafted from locally roasted beans and house-made syrups, plus brunch fare from St. Germain and cronuts from Nashville staple, Five Daughters Bakery.
