Atlanta bartenders have never needed permission to do something different, and the city’s growing roster of non-alcoholic cocktails is proof. Sober-curious, sober-serious, or just pacing yourself; whatever brought you to the zero-proof side, you’re no longer stuck with a sad sparkling water.

From Ponce to the Westside, the city’s best bars are treating N/A cocktails with the same reverence as their spirits. Here’s where to sip without sacrificing the experience.

Zephyr Southern Brasserie

Acclaimed mixologist Thandi Walton runs the beverage program at Hotel Phoenix’s lobby-level restaurant and bar, and her “Zero Judgement” menu earns the name—spirit-free libations crafted with the same care as everything else behind her bar. The standout is the Butterflies on the Rail: butterfly pea, lemon, blackberries, and egg white (or vegan) foam, a drink that looks as enticing as it tastes. 70 Centennial Olympic Park Dr. NW, Atlanta, hotelphoenix.com

The Sober Social

Aja Wolfe didn’t set out to open Atlanta’s first N/A bar. She started hosting Sundays at her house, mixing zero-proof drinks until her friends stopped making fun of her and started asking for refills. The result is the Sober Social, a speakeasy-style lounge in Castleberry Hill, where the craft is taken just as seriously as anywhere else. Order the Social Live Wire (espresso, Kentucky 74 bourbon alternative, toffee-caramel rim)—it will make you a believer. 141 Mangum St. SW, Unit 207, Atlanta, thesobersocialbar.com

Close Company

NYC cocktail institution Death & Co opened its scrappier Atlanta sibling in Old Fourth Ward in late 2025, tucked inside a building that looks like it has absolutely nothing going on inside. Spoiler alert, It does. The zero-proof menu is tailored but fun: the Dangerous Rickey (N/A gin, celery cordial, garden herb tonic), the Chennai Cobbler (N/A vermouth, mango, yogurt), the Parakeet (notas de agave, N/A aperitif, green apple), and the Phony Negroni. Same kitchen, same bar, same energy. Just no hangover. 505 N. Angier Ave. NE, Ste. 320, Atlanta, closecompanybar.com

Both the Beltline and Buckhead Village outposts of this Rimini-inspired Italian bar have a zero-proof section that fits the aperitivo ethos perfectly. The Spritz swaps the booze for Lapo’s N/A aperitif with zero prosecco and soda; Amore e Passione goes the floral route with Floreale N/A aperitivo, passion fruit, lemon, and soda. Both land in the same light, effervescent register as the real thing, which makes them the perfect pairing for balmy summer Atlanta nights. Multiple locations, yeppaco.com

Vesper

Vesper was doing zero-proof seriously before most Atlanta bars had figured out their first mocktail. The James Bond-themed lounge in Glenwood Park dedicates an entire section of its menu to what it calls “00 Proof Cocktails,” and the bit earns its keep. Classics like the Gimlet, Old Fashioned, and Paper Plane get the full Ritual Zero Proof treatment, while the Not So Stormy (zero-proof rum, lime, Fever-Tree ginger beer) is the one you’ll keep coming back for. 924 Garrett St., Ste. D, Atlanta, vesperatl.com

Little Sparrow

Ford Fry’s Michelin-recommended French bistro on Howell Mill has three N/A cocktails, and the most interesting one is No Regrets—described on the menu as “peaty and complex, reminiscent of a fine Speyside malt.” That’s a bold claim for a zero-proof drink, but Little Sparrow’s bar team delivers. Triple Crown brings Wilfred’s bitter orange aperitif into a ginger-forward highball, while Rose-Colored Glasses keeps things lighter with blood orange fizz. 1198 Howell Mill Rd., Atlanta, littlesparrowatl.com

Lucky Star

The techniques at Lucky Star don’t change based on what’s in the glass. The team behind this Michelin-recommended Taiwanese bar builds spirit-free cocktails with the same scientific precision: Bee’s Ginger on an N/A gin base with honey, lemon, and ginger; Tomato + Tonic pairs clarified tomato with Fever Tree; Aztec January layers passionfruit and lemon over house-made mole syrup. Order one at the bar and watch them make it. You won’t clock the difference. 1055 Howell Mill Rd. Ste. 110, Atlanta, luckystaratl.com

Jagger Suite

Perched above the Moxy Downtown with Mercedes-Benz Stadium glittering in the distance, Jagger Suite is loud, glamorous, and built for a big night. The “Free-Spirited” menu fits right in: the Rooftop Retreat pairs Ritual tequila alternative with pineapple, basil, and coconut water; the Flashback goes whiskey alternative, ginger, and lemon; the Off the Record rounds things out with zero-proof gin, vanilla, pomegranate, and citrus. All three provide the same Studio 54 energy as the cocktails; best enjoyed beneath that 12-foot disco unicorn. 329 Marietta St. NW, 10th Floor, Atlanta, jaggersuite.com

Commune

Less of a bar and more of a high-fidelity living room, Commune was built by musicians for music lovers, and it shows in every corner of this Avondale Estates listening room. If you’re not drinking, you’re still in for a good time. Skip the standard sodas in favor of the Kava Mule or the house-made N/A-groni—earthy, slightly numbing, with the weight of a stiff cocktail and none of the morning-after math. 6 Olive St., Avondale Estates, communeatl.com

Bar Margot

The mezzanine perch inside the Four Seasons Midtown is moody, relaxed, and exactly the kind of room that makes you want to stay for another round—which, if you’re not drinking, is easy to do. Each zero-proof cocktail reads like a direct translation of something on the spirits menu: Lil’ Coltraine pulls smoked guava and rosemary from its boozy counterpart, while Garden Party does the cucumber-hibiscus thing without leaning on St-Germain to get there. It’s the full Four Seasons experience, just without the booze. 75 14th St. NE, Atlanta, barmargotatl.com

Anansi Cocktail Lounge

Anansi trades bright minimalism for a moody lounge in Avondale Estates, where the “Ikenice Choice” mocktail menu is built entirely on Lyre’s spirits. The N/A espresso martini is the standout—frothy, bitter, and toasted without the syrupy aftertaste that follows most versions around. The Amaretto Sour with aquafaba is worth a second look, too, hitting the same silky texture as the real thing. The room is dark, the music is right, and nothing about the experience signals that you’re drinking anything other than full proof. 2700 E. College Ave., Ste. 4000, Decatur, anansiatl.com

Kimball House

This converted rail depot in Decatur has one of the most serious bar programs in the metro, and its zero-proof list doesn’t phone it in. The Tokyo Zero (ginger, yuzu, lime, pineapple, white shoyu) is the standout, pulling from the same Japanese-leaning flavor vocabulary as the cocktail menu. The St. Agrestis Phony Negroni makes an appearance here too—always a reliable order—alongside the N/A Grapefruit Royale, topped with Oddbird sparkling. Sit at the bar, order a dozen oysters, and no one will be the wiser. 303 E. Howard Ave., Decatur, kimball-house.com
