Phoenix’s LGBTQ+ dining and nightlife scene has range. It can mean tapas and tequila in a moody dining room, women’s sports on the big screen, plant-based afternoon tea, a neighborhood coffee shop, or a dance floor that feels like a chosen family.

Across the Valley, queer-owned, queer-run, and LGBTQ+ friendly restaurants, bars, bakeries, cafes, and dessert shops are creating spaces where the food and drinks matter, but the welcome matters just as much. Here are 10 local spots to check out right now.

Boycott Bar

Boycott Bar is a Melrose District staple and one of Phoenix’s best-known LGBTQ+ nightlife spaces. Founded by Audrey Corley, the bar has built its reputation as a safe, inclusive place where queer people, especially women, can feel celebrated, protected, and connected. It is part dance floor, part neighborhood anchor, and part chosen-family living room.

Expect music, dancing, themed events, community, and big-night-out energy. Pride Month brings its U-Haul Party, a tongue-in-cheek celebration of lesbian culture with fast connections, humor, music, and what Corley calls “chaos in the best possible way.” The bar is also part of Melrose First Fridays alongside Title 9 Sports Grill. 4301 N. Seventh Ave., Phoenix, boycottbarphx.com

Brick Road Coffee has grown from a Tempe coffee shop into a two-location community hub with a clear point of view: everyone is welcome, and coffee can be a connector. Founded by Gabe Hagen and Jesse Shank, the LGBTQ+-owned cafe welcomes LGBTQ+ guests, sober-community friendly guests, allies, neighbors, and anyone looking for a safe place to land. It’s cozy, casual, and community-minded.

The menu covers artisanal coffee, pastries, pizzas, and drinks built for lingering. Go for a coffee, stay for the come-as-you-are energy, and check the shop’s online offerings for blends like Defiance Espresso Blend, Inspiration Blend, Pride Blend, Revolution Blend, Soft Reset Decaf, and Half-Light Blend. 4415 S. Rural Road, Suite 10, Tempe; and 1337 S. Gilbert Road, Suite 120, Mesa, brickroadcc.com

Dahlia Tapas Tequila & Wine feels made for lingering. The intimate Phoenix restaurant blends Spanish and Mexican influences with a moody, romantic dining room, thoughtful lighting, tequila, wine, and a shareable menu.

The Spanish-Mexican tapas menu makes the case for ordering across the table. Start with the Pan Con Tomate, Potato Croquettes, Spanish Dates, or Tostada Trio, then add the Chilean Lamb Chops, Octopus Carpaccio, or a Full Board with Noble Bread if the table is sharing. Dahlia also offers catering and private events, including weddings. 2221 N. Seventh St., Phoenix, dahliatapas.com

The bar is known as a proudly queer space where talent shines, the dance floor stays busy, and community comes first.

This is less sit-down dinner and more full-night-out energy. Stacy’s hosts regular drag shows, Sunday Service Drag Brunch, karaoke, dance nights, and inclusive events, with creative cocktails and a lounge-meets-nightclub feel in the heart of Phoenix’s Melrose District. 4343 N. This hip venue brings dinner, drinks, and a little midcentury glamour to the Melrose Mile. The restaurant is located inside The Royale, the retail center at Seventh Avenue and Glenrosa Avenue, but the name to know for food and cocktails is ROYALE KITCHEN + COCKTAILS. The space feels colorful, casual, and stylish, with a Palm-Springs-meets-’60s-Vegas-meets-Miami Beach vibe.

The menu leans broad, approachable, and flavorful, with contemporary American, Mexican, Southwestern, and globally inspired dishes. Signature favorites include the Peachy Keen Chicken Sandwich, YUM Burger, Thai Shrimp Curry, and Royale Nachos, along with cocktails such as the Spicy Mark Daddy, Espresso Martini, Rocco Spritz, and YUM-tinis. 635 W. The Toasted Mallow is a Gilbert dessert shop built around one very happy idea: marshmallows deserve main-character energy. The family-owned business was launched by Tricia Arce, who turned handcrafted marshmallows into a playful cafe and s’mores bar with help from her wife, Hazel. Since opening in 2014, the shop has grown into a dessert destination with small-batch treats, colorful drinks, and kid-in-a-candy-store charm.

Gourmet marshmallows are the star, but the shop also serves s’mores, cupcakes, hand-spun milkshakes, frozen drinks, cake bites, and special-order sweets. Go classic with Vanilla Bean, Campfire S’mores, Cookies & Cream, or Birthday Cake marshmallows, or make it a full dessert stop with a Cookies and Cream Milkshake, Frozen Hot Chocolate, Happy Camper, or Gimme S’mores frozen coffee. 1034 N. Gilbert Road, Unit 2, Gilbert, thetoastedmallow.com

Title 9 Sports Grill

Title 9 Sports Grill brings women’s sports front and center in the Melrose District. Now led by Audrey Corley, the women-focused sports bar has added later weekend hours, late-night food, a refreshed menu, and an updated patio. Located just steps from Corley’s longtime LGBTQ+ nightlife staple Boycott Bar, Title 9 helps anchor a pocket of Melrose where queer-owned, women-centered, and community-driven businesses are shaping the neighborhood’s culture.

The refreshed menu keeps the sports-bar spirit while giving guests new reasons to come hungry, stay later, and make a night of it in Melrose. On Fridays and Saturdays, Title 9 stays open longer with late-night food, making it an easy stop after games, concerts, First Friday, date night, or a night out nearby. 4221 N. Seventh Ave., Phoenix, titleninesportsgrill.com

Pride All Year Round

This list is only a starting point. The Valley is home to many more queer-owned, queer-run, and LGBTQ+-friendly businesses worth supporting during Pride Month and all year long. To find more local spots, explore the Greater Phoenix Equality Chamber of Commerce business directory at business.equalitychamber.org, check Visit Phoenix’s LGBTQ-owned business guide, and keep showing up for the restaurants, bars, cafes, bakeries, and neighborhood spaces making metro Phoenix more welcoming, creative, and, of course, delicious.
