Federales Gets a Walk-Up Slice Window
Ranalli’s has been one of Chicago’s go-to pizza bars for nearly 50 years, and now Denver gets a taste of the thin, crispy tavern-style pies. Starting on Thursday, October 29, the restaurant will open a walk-up slice window at Federales (2903 Larimer St.) in RiNo. Toppings include cheese, sausage, or pepperoni. The spot will also dish out jumbo chicken tenders and Caesar salads. Check it out nightly starting at 4 p.m.
Bonus: Ranalli’s is handing out free slices on Saturday, October 31 from 4 to 6 p.m., one per person, no purchase needed, while they last.
Dear Emilia Wants to Teach You to Make Pasta
Dear Emilia in RiNo launched pasta-making classes on October 15, and now the celebrated Italian spot from the team behind Restaurant Olivia is hosting one a month. The next two are November 19 and December 17, and they will sell out.
Classes begin promptly at 4 p.m., aprons are provided, and the experience includes a three-course dinner, and fresh pasta and house-made pomodoro to take home. Keep in mind, due to the nature of the event, Dear Emilia is unable to accommodate allergies or dietary restrictions. Make sure to grab your spot asap; reservations can be made here.
Adventure Time Closed After Flood
After what owner Sam Wood called “our best weekend ever,” Adventure Time Bar is now closed after a plumbing issue on the floor above. He said they walked in on Monday to find water pouring from the ceiling, which caused flooding and a lot of damage to the creative space. It’s currently closed and Wood said he hopes to have it cleaned up and fixed by Thursday.
Fall Drinks and Eats at Organic Squeeze
The family-owned juice and smoothie cafe Organic Squeeze, located in Cherry Creek, just launched a seasonal menu. Diners can now order the Organic Grass-Fed Beef Chili, Pumpkin Patch Smoothie, Pumpkin Patch Bowl, and Pumpkin Spice Latte. The specials are available through the end of December.
The Greenwich Moves On
This past weekend Drew Davis, the owner of The Greenwich in RiNo, announced on social media that it has closed.
“Despite efforts from our wonderful team, the business was never able to find its footing after I took over the reins in January,” he wrote. “For this I accept full responsibility. We are navigating the same challenges that restaurants across the city are facing and I made mistakes that only compounded those difficulties.”
Davis bought the restaurant early this year from Delores Tronco, who opened The Greenwich in September, 2021. He also noted the team would need employment, including chef Luke Miller, who was on last season’s Chef’n It.
Free Margarita at Tamayo
Are you heading to the Denver Center for the Performing Arts for a show? Why not make a night of it and have dinner at Tamayo too. In fact, to help entice diners, the decades-old restaurant offers a complimentary Margarita with the purchase of an entrée before or after the performance. All you have to do is show your same-day DCPA ticket to cash in.
Love Beer and Art?
If you have ever sought out the limited-edition Colorado Pint Day glass, you know the unique image comes from a local artist. Now, the Colorado Brewers Guild has opened the call for the 2027 glass design. This year the theme is Colorado wildflowers, with the state’s signature Rocky Mountain Columbine at the crux.
The competition is open to Colorado residents only, and the winning image will get a $1,000 award. Here is the form, which is due on Sunday, November 8. The winner will be announced in mid-November.
This will be the 12th Colorado Pint Day, which takes place on April 28, 2027. Over 200 breweries took part in 2026, and we expect at least that many this year.
Kimbal Musk Leave The Kitchen
Kimbal Musk, aka the brother to Elon Musk, has sold his restaurant The Kitchen to Bryan Dayton of Half Eaten Cookie Hospitality. Dayton, known for Corrida, Oak at Fourteenth, C Bar, and C Burger takes over the two locations in Denver and Boulder.
Musk and co-founder Hugo Matheson opened the Kitchen on Pearl Street Mall in Boulder in 2004. The Denver location by Union Station followed in 2012. Dayton’s group will manage both and has no immediate plans for overhauling anything.
Run For the Roses Temporarily Shuts Down
Through the end of the year Run For the Roses in Downtown Denver will close for maintenance. Online it sited the need to fix the ancient elevator. You can still get your fix though since the bar will still be open for private events, including holiday parties.
Park & Co Closes
Yesterday Park & Co officially closed its 16-year-old casual cafe in Uptown. Owned by the Gastamo Group, this marks another shuttering by the company who recently shuttered the long-standing Park Burger in Highland. Its remaining concepts, Lady Nomada, Perdida, and Home Grown Tap & Dough continue to thrive.
