Formerly the epicenter of Atlanta’s bar scene, Buckhead has evolved into a hub of upscale living with luxury apartments, high-end shops, and a wide array of trendy restaurants. The arrival of the Michelin guide in 2023 cemented the tony enclave’s status as a culinary hot spot, awarding stars to omakase counters and high-end hotel restaurants throughout town. But it’s not just the fine-dining experiences that shine here. From family-style Persian cuisine to one of Atlanta’s largest collections of mezcal, these restaurants are serving up the best of Buckhead.

Whether you’re dressing up for a splurge or simply looking for a memorable meal, these are the spots that define Buckhead dining right now.

Chef Freddy Money delivers on his name with this Michelin-starred spot inside The St. Regis Atlanta. Lined with museum-worthy art, the dining room sets the stage for seasonal tasting menus (including a vegan option) that flirt with French technique while celebrating Southern growers. Expect caviar, champagne, and personalized service from waiters who remember your favorite bread. It’s a splurge, but one that delivers a night worth dressing up for. 88 W. Paces Ferry Rd. NW, Atlanta, atlasrestaurant.com

The Chastain

Boasting a private garden and farmhouse-style digs, the Chastain is a snapshot of idyllic farm life located minutes from the city. Don’t let its rustic charm fool you; food is taken seriously here.  Locally sourced proteins and produce manifest in dishes like hamachi crudo cured in green apple horseradish ponzu and rock shrimp pesto risotto made with basil grown onsite. Looking for something unfussy? The Chastain is also known for having one of the best burgers in Atlanta. 4320 Powers Ferry Rd., Atlanta, thechastainatl.com

Perched above the charming streets of Buckhead Village, this tapas-forward venue serves big Spanish flavors and even bigger gin and tonics. Come with a group to try perfectly seared octopus, crispy patatas bravas, and mouthwatering Moroccan hot chicken bites on the breezy patio, or book a table on a weekend to savor Sunday brunch with a Mediterranean twist. 3035 Peachtree Rd. NE, Ste. A209, Atlanta, gk-atl.com

Zakia

Zakia delivers Buckhead’s most polished take on modern Lebanese cuisine, marrying family recipes with a sleek see-and-be-seen vibe. The menu is vibrant and aromatic—think creamy hummus, pillowy pita, fresh salads, charcoal-kissed kebabs, and seafood brightened with citrus and herbs. Warm hospitality anchors it all, making even a quick lunch feel celebratory. Don’t skip dessert; the Dubai chocolate tart and honey-soaked kounafe are both worth the calories. 3699 Lenox Rd. NE Ste. 3, Atlanta, zakiarestaurant.com

You’re unlikely to find a table as bountiful as any inside Delbar. This Middle Eastern restaurant specializes in beautifully plated mezze that taste even better than they look, and grilled meats that perfume the dining room like a warm Tehran evening. The space is stylish but never stuffy, perfect for lingering over saffron-kissed rice, tender kebabs, and cocktails that lean bright and herbaceous. 3060 Peachtree Rd., Ste. R-160, Atlanta delbaratl.com

This buzzy sushi spot has become a Buckhead magnet for glitterati with its low-lit lounge, exceptionally fresh fish, and excellent sake program. You’ll find all the staples here, but the highlights are the globally inspired creations, like the bluefin tuna-stuffed foie gras roll or surf and turf featuring torched A5 wagyu. An invite-only speakeasy and an ultra-exclusive omakase experience add to the allure. 3050 Peachtree Rd. NW, Ste. #1, Atlanta, umiatlanta.com

Snap Thai Fish House

Chef Pattie Lawlertratana transports diners to the shores of her native Thailand with this coastal-chic Buckhead restaurant. Punchy flavors and a market-driven seafood program give Snap Thai Fish House its unique flavor, and upscale beachy decor, including a chandelier depicting a school of porcelain fish, keep the space feeling elegant but relaxed. Expect Thai chili-spiced salads, wok-fried dishes packed with lobster, and tropical cocktails with a Thai twist. 3699 Lenox Rd. NE, Atlanta, snapthaiatl.com

This Buckhead standout is simply a love letter to Atlanta. Designed with a modern eye and Southern flair, the dining room showcases maps, antique-style plates, and a wall of tapes in homage to the owner’s favorite music store. The dishes are equally thoughtful, with seasonally rotating offerings ranging from classic smoked trout dip to a soy-braised short rib. Be sure to drop in for brunch; the caramel apple monkey bread is a must-order. 2355 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, https://roshamboatl.com/

Sea breezes and calming coastal vibes come to Buckhead Village at this upscale seafood spot. The oyster bar is a particular draw, serving a daily changing menu of fresh bivalves and a drinks menu designed to pair with their briny bite. Lobster, flounder, mussels, and shrimp are all given the royal treatment (and a delicious dose of butter). Be sure to order caviar fries for the table. 3009 Bolling Way NE, Ste. G130, Atlanta, carmelatl.com

Le Bon Nosh

This labor of love from chemical engineer-turned-chef Forough Vakili is everything a third space should be. Serving French-inspired bistro fare with fresh Southern ingredients, this market-slash-café is perfect for lingering over cappuccino and croissants, or grabbing a quick jambon beurre for lunch. By night, Le Bon Nosh takes on a romantic ambiance, serving comforting continental classics like hearty pappardelle, duck confit, and steak au poivre. 65 Irby Ave. NW, Ste. 103, Atlanta lebonnosh.com

Dinner meets performance art at Omakase Table, where every seat offers a front row view. Chef Leonard Yu’s 20-course Michelin-starred tasting unfolds course by jewel box course—silky hamachi, melt-away otoro, even a swoon-worthy uni gohan that could convert the uni-skeptical. A champagne toast and caviar bump set the tone, helping to ease into a night of casual conversation with the dozen other guests seated around the U-shaped bar. 3330 Piedmont Rd. NE, Ste. #22A, Atlanta, omakasetableatl.com

Pata Negra Mezcaleria

Sultry lighting and charcoal-spiked spirits should clue you into the unusual experience you’re bound to have at Pata Negra Mezcaleria. This moody Buckhead spot from chef Octavio Ruiz pays homage to his native Jalisco with an artistic twist—think black-themed foods (rich moles, black bean broths, chargrilled veggies) and one of the city’s largest collections of mezcal, all designed to pair with the cuisine. 1777 Peachtree St. NE, Atlanta, patanegraatl.com
