Now, it’s easy to confuse this made up holiday with other wine-centric days, including National Wine Day (May 25), National Wine and Cheese Day (July 25), National Drink Orange Wine Day (October 6), and National Mulled Wine Day (March 3). Though, the latter may have been best served during the winter months, but who are we to judge the fantasy calendar. Those days aside, at least a dozen more themed wine dates exist, covering anything from grapes to style to actions.

But back to this Saturday, the event simply revolves around drinking any wine you please. So celebrate how you see fit, be that a bottle of bubbles, a glass in a friend’s kitchen, or a trip to one of these fantastic wine bars.

Noble Riot

Thanks to the team behind Nocturne, in the spring of 2019 Noble Riot came into our lives boasting natural wines, small labels, and unique vintages. Best part, the staff there can talk about what’s in the glass at any given time. Not that anyone would guess that’s what awaits you inside the RiNo bar. The outdoor seating resides in the pedestrian alleyway and graffiti and murals cover most of the exposed brick. The theme continues on inside thanks to sunlight streaming through windows also spray painted with tags and whatnot, giving the wall a modern art vibe and the bar a unique look. Order from the vast menu, or ask the server to steer you in the right direction. Pairing the gluten-free fried chicken and perfect potatoes with said wine makes the experience that much better. 1336 27th St., Denver, nobleriot.com

Bigsby’s Folly

When walking into Chad and Marla Yetka’s wine bar for the first time, be prepared to be awed. It’s beautiful inside with glittering chandeliers, velvety and leather seats, and a vast bar sporting all the wines they make there. Located in RiNo, the tasting room combines that glam with industrial chic, so the space feels comfortable and elegant at the same time. The cab franc is a good choice, or go for something cool like The White RiNo. If you can’t decide, choose a flight. Small plates and full-sized dinners can also be ordered. The weekend brunch has taken off as well. 3563 Wazee St., Denver, bigsbysfolly.com

Trellis Wine Bar

Owners Alisha Stoltz and Ilona Botton have created an elegant and bright wine bar in Park Hill that caters to how you want your night, or day, to go. Want to chat about the vintages being poured? Drink wine at the long bar. Having a heart-to-heart with your best friend? The lounge offers comfortable and intimate tables. Even bringing your kids is an option when perched outside on the patio. After all, there’s a playground right in the square the bar boarders. 2868 Fairfax St., Denver, trelliswinebar.com
