The meal starts with caviar-topped blinis, deviled eggs with white truffle, or fritto misto. Next comes a serving of lobster bisque and a fresh little gem salad. Lover’s Listening Room at Ambler

Head downtown to Ambler for its special pop-up, Lover’s Listening Room. The ticketed event offers an immersive dining experience in the style of a vinyl listening lounge. Celebrate love, flavor, and a night designed just for two with a special three-course menu built with the holiday in mind. On February 13 and 14 at Kachina Cantina, couples should take advantage of Amor at the Cantina, a three-course prix fixe menu running $75 per person. The evenings’ lineup features starters such as citrus scallop and shrimp ceviche or elote empanadas. Get in the mood with a three-course dinner designed to impress any level of love. Begin with the First Kiss, a lovely appetizer featuring yellowfin tuna with leche de tigre, ají amarillo, truffle oil, root chips and furikake. Or, indulge in Temptation Oysters, which come topped with spinach butter, jalapeño, cheeses, panko and chili oil. Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an Italian prix fixe experience at Gattara for $120 per person. The four-course menu starts with a glass of prosecco served with a welcome bite from executive chef Mimmo Faid. Next comes a choice of appetizers such as fresh sea scallops in a delicate white wine and citrus butter sauce, or chef’s salad with organic greens, beets, goat cheese, and pistachios.

Opening January 29, the highly anticipated Denver debut from Michelin-recommended Restaurant Olivia team makes for the perfect Valentine’s Day destination. Treat your Valentine to a three-course dinner accompanied by sexy live music from some of Denver’s finest jazz artists. That’s what you’ll find at Nocturne in RiNo. On Friday enjoy the sounds of the Gabriel Mervine Quintet with special guest jazz vocalist Marion Powers. Then on Valentine’s Day night the Ben Markley Quintet takes the stage with romantic standards and intimate ballads.

The prix-fixe menu includes a choice of chilled wild jumbo shrimp, a half-dozen oyster sampler, Nantucket Bay scallop crudo, or and a jumbo lump crab cake. In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Sushi Den, Ototo Den, and Izakaya Den open early, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, February 14. This allows even more people to enjoy the elegant sushi restaurants, and dinner reservations are available via Open Table. Early walk-ins are also welcome, and if you visit Sushi Den or Izakaya Den you can exclusively enjoy a four-course omakase at the sushi counter for $85 per person.

For Valentine’s dining with Colorado flair, nothing beats The Fort. The chefs have whipped up a specialty menu for the occasion, including an 8-ounce buffalo filet paired with buttery mashed potatoes, freshly baked bread, the signature salad, and a petit Chambord negrita topped with passion fruit pearls.
