One of Houston’s most prominent restaurant groups is planting a flag in the Woodlands.

Bar Bludorn the Woodlands will open Saturday, September 26 at 25 Waterway Avenue, marking both the first expansion of the group’s neighborhood tavern concept and its first restaurant outside of central Houston.

The Woodlands outpost follows the original Bar Bludorn, which chef Aaron Bludorn and business partners Cherif Mbodji and Victoria Pappas Bludorn opened in Memorial in 2024. Rather than simply duplicating the Houston restaurant, the team plans to give its newest location a personality—and menu—of its own.

Guests can expect familiar Bar Bludorn signatures alongside new dishes from Bludorn, with the menu continuing the restaurant’s American bistro approach while incorporating Texas influences. More specifics on the food are expected to be revealed closer to opening.

The Woodlands restaurant will also introduce features not found at the original, including a private dining room and outdoor patio. Gensler designed the space, carrying over the warm neighborhood feel of the Memorial restaurant while tailoring the design to its Waterway setting.

“Expanding beyond Central Houston is a big step for us, and Howard Hughes Communities has been a great partner to take it with,” said Aaron Bludorn, chef and partner of Bludorn Hospitality Group, in a statement. “We are excited to introduce a menu and experience that reflects The Woodlands while still delivering the same Houston-inspired hospitality our guests know from Bar Bludorn in Memorial.”

The opening represents another milestone in what has been a steady period of growth for Bludorn Hospitality Group. Bludorn, Mbodji, and Pappas Bludorn founded the company in 2020 with the opening of flagship restaurant Bludorn. The portfolio has since grown to include seafood-focused Navy Blue in Rice Village, Bar Bludorn in Memorial, and Perseid at Hotel Saint Augustine in Montrose.

The group is also looking farther afield. A San Antonio project is in the works, meaning the Woodlands won’t be its only venture beyond Houston for long.

For now, Bar Bludorn the Woodlands gives North Houston diners a much closer taste of one of the city’s most prominent restaurant groups—and gives BHG its first opportunity to see how its brand of Houston hospitality translates beyond the heart of the city.
