Dog Haus, the casual hot dog chain known for its gourmet handhelds built with chef-driven toppings, is giving Houstonians a reason to celebrate the dog days of summer. The company that was founded by longtime friends, Hagop Giragossian, Quasim Riaz, and André Vener in Pasadena, California in 2010, is commemorating the month of July, aka National Hot Dog Month, by shilling free hot dogs to its customers as part of a celebration of its 15 years in business.

The brand has more than 50 locations nationwide, including one Houston-area store, located at 5414 Highway 6 in Missouri City. On Wednesday, July 16, in honor of National Hot Dog Day, Dog Haus is giving away one free Haus Dog per person at its Missouri City location with no purchase necessary. Guests must simply be a part of the Haus Rewards program, accessible by downloading the company’s free app, to claim their complimentary dog.

Each Dog Haus dog is made with Creekstone Farms natural premium Black Angus beef and King’s Hawaiian rolls, with Haus Dog varieties including dogs like the Chili Idol with Haus chili, cheddar cheese sauce, and onions; the Cowboy, with smoked bacon, crispy onions, and barbecue sauce; and the Downtown, with smoked bacon, caramelized onions, pickled peppers, and the holy trinity of mayo, mustard, and ketchup.

While the one-day promo is hard to beat, Dog Haus will keep the celebration going all month long with its BOGO Haus Dogs special, available from July 17 through 31—also limited to registered Haus Rewards members—which allows guests to score one free hot dog when they buy one.

While hot dogs are the main draw, Dog Haus is equally known for its 100% Black Angus beef burgers, made with hormone- and antibiotic-free meat, also built on King’s Hawaiian rolls; crispy fried tenders and hot wings; and “big-ass breakfast burritos”. In an effort to be inclusive to all diners, the menu features a significant variety of plant-based and vegetarian options, like sliders, tenders, and nuggets made with Impossible meat products.
