Among the all-stars featured in this Friday’s show are past champions Michael Leonard and Gerron Hurt. Hurt, a Louisville, Kentucky native, earned the coveted Season 9 title by wowing judges Gordon Ramsey, Joe Bastianich, and Aaron Sanchez with his Southern-inspired fare. Leonard, who hails from New Jersey, more recently took home the Season 14 title.

The duo will be joined by fan favorites Rachel Sanchez and Julio Figueredo, aka the Fiery Cooks, who were finalists on Season 15 MasterChef: Dynamic Duos. Sanchez and Figueredo are the first Cuban and Brazilian finalists in the show’s long-running history, and their heritage is proudly shared through their cooking.

During the show, fans will be able to watch the chefs face off in real-time culinary battles, complete with surprise challenges, and create original dishes in real time on stage. Beyond the throws of competition, the chefs will share their insights on what it’s like competing on the show, under the pressure of the celebrity judges, open up the floor for questions, and share tips for at-home cooks.
