Eat and Drink For Less at These Happy Hours in Denver

From Food to Drinks, We’ve Got You Covered

Hitting a happy hour is almost a tradition in some offices and friend groups. In Denver, everyone is always on the lookout for a great spot to shake off the day and whet the appetite for an evening. If you have ever gone to one of the popular meetups in the city, you will see they are absolutely hopping during the prime aprés-work hours.

But a good happy hour entails more than a menu of discounted apps and cheap drinks. It’s about the atmosphere as much as the prices, the quality of the small plates menu vs. its length, and the variety and tastiness of the adult beverages priced for easy imbibing.

So we did a little digging and uncovered five of Denver’s best happy hour hotspots that tick all these boxes and more. Here is a list of some local happy hours around town for you and your friends and/or coworkers to check out today.

Jax Fish House Oyster Bar

Jax Fish House

Jax Fish House is an upscale seafood restaurant with several locations, two in the Denver area. There is a location in LoDo and one in Glendale. Jax serves seafood, platters and oysters in an upscale environment. Jax’s happy hour menu is great and runs from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. everyday. The food menu ranges from inexpensive to pricey, hushpuppies to a seafood sampler. There is something for everyone on the list of happy hour menu items. The drinks are aplenty and run on average $6–$8. All in all, Jax is a great choice—there’s a reason the establishment tops many “Denver’s best happy hours” lists.

Where: Locations in LoDo, Glendale, Boulder, Fort Collins, Colorado Springs

Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant

If you are a big fan of Tex Mex food and margaritas, this is the place for you. Rio Grande holds happy hours every Monday through Friday from 3pm- 6pm. All margaritas are $2 off, select beers are $3, and glasses of wine are $5. On the food side, there is a large selection of $3.50 à la carte tacos to choose from as well as some Mexican classics (think: quesadillas and nachos) on the appetizer menu.

Where: Locations in Downtown Denver, Park Meadows, Boulder, Fort Collins and Greeley

The Red Barber

This location has ambience down. If you enjoy quaffing cocktails in a rooftop setting that conjures up sentiments of a whimsical garden party, then this is the place for you. You can admire the mountain and city views while you are cozying up by a firepit with friends toasting to the good life. The daily happy hour runs from 4 p.m.–6 p.m., featuring $6 old fashioneds, $5 glasses of wine, and a $10 snack pack. And if you’re in the mood for a day-long Sunday Funday, this spot is for you: happy hour runs all day long.

Where: 3770 Walnut St., Denver

Uchi

Uchi Denver is one of the most beautiful sushi and Asian restaurants in Denver—and possibly one of its priciest. But don’t fret: the dining gem of Denver also offers a fantastic happy hour menu from 4 p.m. to 6:30 pm daily. The menu features a selection of specialty cocktails for $9 as well as various sakes to complement an amazing selection of sushi on the menu, which are sure to satisfy everyone’s palettes.

Where: 2500 Lawrence St., Denver

Tavernetta

A happy hour at an elegant Italian restaurant? Yes, please. For an early evening out with your fanciest friends, Tavernetta is the perfect happy hour destination. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily, you can enjoy delicious Italian wines from $7 and a great selection of Italian fare at discounted prices. It’s the perfect spot for anyone on a budget, as this Happy Hour is a most deliciously fantastic one.

Where: 1889 16th St., Denver
