Dek goes here…

It’s not always easy to make the healthiest dining choices when faced with a menu full of enticing, indulgent dishes that taste oh-so-good. Luckily, Denver has some wonderful healthy dining options—no surprise there, given the city is consistently ranked as one of the healthiest cities in the country—where it’s easy to eat healthy while dining out.

We compiled a list of five restaurants to try in the Denver area that are full of healthy menu choices.

Arugula, watermelon radish, cherry tomatoes, English cucumber, green onion, radish, crispy pitas and pomegranate molasses
MAZEVO Mediterranean Eatery

Ash’Kara

2005 W 33rd Ave Denver, CO 80211

Ash’Kara is a contemporary Israeli restaurant that borrows its cuisine flavors from throughout the regions of the Middle East, Mediterranean, and Northern Africa. The restaurant is centered around a 900-degree brick oven in which they use to cook up heritage grain wood-fired pita. They even have a gluten-free version for those with sensitivities or allergies. Their signature dishes include hand-whipped hummus, falafel and authentic dips and spreads to die for. Or if you are looking for something a little heavier, try the kebabs or pita-wrapped shawarma sandwich. This is a great place for vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. So many options with so much flavor!

Mazevo is another Mediterranean Eatery that we enjoy. They offer a variety of Mediterranean dishes such as tahini hummus, baba ganoush, labneh and dolmas. They have a lunch menu and a dinner menu. With many vegetarian options and also those for carnivores, they have something to please everyone, even the kiddos. Don’t forget a piece of baklava if you are cheating on your diet. You deserve a treat now and then!

Root Down has a fresh and veggie forward menu. The ingredients are responsibly sourced and grown ingredients. Much of the produce is organically sourced locally, from local, responsible vendors. They use 100% wind power and all animal products are certified humane, pasture raised and eat non-GMO vegetarian feed. They also have a 6,000 sf organic garden that supplies 20% of the seasonal herbs and vegetables for the restaurant.  And with choices for brunch and dinner that range from roasted poblano gnocchi to scallops to lamb, there are delicious entrees for any eater.
