Over the weekend, the Fredericksburg Food and Wine Festival hosted a four-day extravaganza showcasing the best of Texas Hill Country. Culinary offerings abounded, but Texas wine stole the show, with Tempranillo, Tannat, and sparkling wines giving the Lone Star State plenty to boast about. Up next? A taste of Hill Country wine is coming to Dallas.

The first-ever Texas Hill Country Wineries Dallas Road Show will take place Friday, November 6, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. The event will bring together 22 Hill Country wineries for a walk-around tasting featuring more than 60 wines, giving Dallas wine lovers a chance to explore the region without making the four-hour drive to Fredericksburg.

“We’ve wanted to bring a Road Show to Dallas for a long time, and this is the year we finally get to do it,” said January Wiese, executive director of Texas Hill Country Wineries. “Dallas has such a passionate wine community, and this is our chance to show them firsthand what’s happening in Texas vineyards right now.”

The nonprofit organization represents more than 60 Hill Country wineries, and its Dallas debut will be an intimate affair, with attendance capped at 200 guests. Tickets cost $75 per person and include 20 tasting tickets, charcuterie, and a souvenir wine glass.

Just over a four-hour drive from Dallas, Fredericksburg has become a popular getaway for Texans seeking German heritage, small-town charm, and plenty of wine. According to Visit Fredericksburg, Gillespie County welcomed approximately 124,500 visitors in August 2026, with Dallas residents accounting for 6% of those visitors. Now, instead of making the trek to wine country, Dallasites can sample some of its standout offerings closer to home.

Among the wineries making the trip are Adega Vinho and Spicewood Vineyards, two of four Hill Country wineries to earn gold medals at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards.

The international competition judges wines through blind tastings, making the recognition particularly noteworthy for Texas’ growing wine industry. Adega Vinho earned 95 points and a gold medal for its 2021 Estate Tempranillo, produced in Stonewall, while Spicewood Vineyards received the same honors for its 2022 Las Montañas, a blend of Tempranillo and Petit Verdot. The wins mark a milestone for Texas wines as they continue to gain recognition on the global stage.

Also pouring will be Elisa Christopher Wines, a Johnson City vineyard led by husband-and-wife team Chris and Elisa Jones. The couple is making a name for itself with Texas sparkling wines produced using traditional methods and French equipment on their 43-acre property.

The lineup extends well beyond these award winners. Other participating wineries include 12 FIRES Winery & Vineyard, Becker Vineyards, Bending Branch Winery, Bingham Family Vineyards, Buli Limestone Wines, Carter Creek Winery Resort & Spa, Farmhouse Vineyards, Hye Meadow Winery, Inwood Estates, Kerrville Hills Winery, La Vie Estate, Lost Draw, Messina Hof Hill Country Winery, Michael Ros Winery, Pedernales Cellars, Peters Prairie Vineyard, Portree Cellars, Ron Yates, Slate Theory Winery, Texas Hills Vineyard, and William Chris Vineyards.

Whether you’re already a fan of Texas wines or curious to see what all the buzz is about, the Dallas Road Show offers an opportunity to explore the Hill Country’s growing wine scene without leaving the city.

Tickets are available online. Guests are encouraged to use rideshare services or designated drivers. Designated driver tickets are available by emailing info@texashillcountrywineries.org.
