Mom deserves more than a mimosa and a 45-minute wait. This Mother’s Day, skip the predictable brunch stampede and treat her to something more memorable. Whether she’s after a leisurely lunch, a live performance, a hands-on activity, or something nobody else thought to offer, Atlanta’s dining scene is ready to deliver.

These are the spots around town that go beyond the expected—because she did, too.

Carmel

Carmel’s wood-fired seafood pedigree shapes every course of its Mother’s Day brunch, and the family-style format makes the whole thing feel extra celebratory. Grilled oysters with mignonette butter and caviar fries hit the table first before you choose from a menu that skews confidently towards the sea: lobster benedict, Scottish salmon over lobster bisque, and a lobster roll served chilled or warm. Even the avocado toast comes with lump crab. 11:30 am-3:30 pm | $75 per person; 3009 Bolling Way NE, Atlanta, Book here

Atrium

Ponce City Market’s bistro and bar earns its spot on this list with a multi-course format that does all the work. The table-wide appetizer spread—pick three, from burrata with strawberry and balsamic to caramelized onion flatbread—sets a convivial tone before mains like steak and eggs with chimichurri or shrimp and grits. The “It’s Especially Lucky” charm bar and Polaroid photos seal the memory. 11:30 am-3:30 pm | $55 per person; 675 Ponce De Leon Ave. NE #158, Atlanta, Book here

Boone’s

Boone’s makes a strong case for taking the party outside. The terrace views of Bobby Jones Golf Course alone are worth the trip, and $19 bottomless mimosas (plus free parking) make the decision even easier. The brunch menu holds its own, too—crab eggs benedict and fried chicken & hotcakes with smoked chili oil are the kind of dishes that reward a leisurely Sunday. Links-loving moms can even play a round or two on this public course. 11 am-3 pm; 2205 Northside Dr. NW, Atlanta, Book here

Chichería Mexican Kitchen

Few Mother’s Day spreads bring this much energy to the table. Chichería’s weekly live jazz Mexican brunch buffet gets a festive upgrade on Sunday, May 10, with moms receiving a complimentary dessert alongside the full spread of breakfast classics, roasted meats, soups, breads, pastries, coffee, and agua frescas. Bottles of bubbles and $5 mimosas keep the celebration going. Reservations aren’t required, but highly recommended. 11 am-3 pm | $40 adults, $20 kids (6-12); 202 Chattahoochee Row NW., Ste. C, Atlanta, Book here

SKOL Brewing Company

Because nothing says “I appreciate you” quite like handing mom an axe, SKOL Brewing Company is doing exactly that. On Sunday, May 10, moms can enjoy complimentary axe-throwing for Mother’s Day alongside an à la carte brunch and bottomless mimosas. The menu is exactly what the setting calls for: smoked salmon benedict, a hearty breakfast burger, Nordic French toast with berry compote, and a loaded Bloody Mary. No set menus, no dress code; just the opportunity for mom to blow off some steam. No reservations required; 155 Carnegie Way NW, Atlanta, skolbrew.com

Kitty Dare

For the mom who’d rather arrange flowers than wait for them to arrive, Kitty Dare’s Petals and Pours Flower Workshop is the move. On Saturday, May 9, try your hand at bouquet-making—guided by local floral expert Amber Schoepp—paired with a welcome pour of bubbly, a specialty cocktail, and light Mediterranean bites. A 10% dinner discount makes the case for turning the whole evening over to this Edgewood favorite. 2:30-4:30 pm | $120 per person; 1029 Edgewood Ave. NE, Atlanta

Trattoria Lucia

A BeltLine patio, a complimentary strawberry mimosa at the door, and affogato French toast with espresso-soaked brioche and vanilla gelato—now that’s Mother’s Day made easy. This Glenwood Park trattoria keeps things relaxed and right-sized for the occasion, serving its full weekend brunch menu (prosciutto benedict on rosemary focaccia, anyone?) across the sunlit dining room and sidewalk bistro tables. Dog moms are welcome, and every mom dining is entered to win a curated local gift basket. 11 am-3 pm; 925 Garrett St., Ste. I, Atlanta, Book here

Not all moms want a fussy brunch affair. This Poncey-Highland stalwart keeps it real for Mother’s Day, offering its classic smoked meats, Asian-influenced brunch plates, brisket egg rolls, pimento cheese wontons, beermosas, and a complimentary glass of sangria and a fresh flower for every mom who walks through the door. 11 am-3 pm; 656 N. Highland Ave. NE Atlanta, sweetauburnbbq.com

Sweet Georgia’s Juke Joint

This Downtown Atlanta juke joint pulls out all the stops this Mother’s Day, with live music from Regina Troupe—a vocalist whose resume includes Peabo Bryson, Celine Dion, and Patti Austin—setting the tone. The menu delivers red wine-braised short rib hash, bananas Foster French toast, and pork chop and eggs alongside Juke Joint staples like catfish and grits or chicken and waffles. Endless mimosas, the returning Color Purple cocktail, and the Sweet Georgia Peach-Tini turn this brunch into a party. 12-5 pm; 200 Peachtree St. L05, Atlanta, sweetgeorgiasjukejoint.com

The Pub @ EAV

Sold out last year and back by popular demand, this one’s for the mom who raised you with impeccable taste. The Pub @ EAV’s all-ages Disney Divas celebration, hosted by a Cinderella-clad Cora Nova, brings fabulous performances, drink specials, and a kids’ costume contest to Flat Shoals Avenue on Mother’s Day. Full menu available for the whole crew, no minimum purchase required, and free parking seals the deal. Doors 12 pm, show 1-3 pm; 469 Flat Shoals Ave. SE, Atlanta,  Book here

Amore e Amore

Inman Park’s vintage-inspired ristorante goes full coastal fantasy this Mother’s Day, with shimmering turquoise decor setting the scene for a prix-fixe Italian menu that holds its own. Wild filet of sole piccata with polenta, shrimp scampi with spinach, and gnocchi vodka set a slower pace for lunch, while a dedicated children’s menu, complete with house-made pizza bites, means the whole family eats well. It’s equal parts whimsy and genuine Italian comfort. 12-10 pm | $75 per person lunch, $100 per person dinner; 467 N. Highland Ave. NE, Atlanta, Book here

City Winery

Ponce City Market’s urban winery trades its usual concert setup for a Mother’s Day buffet anchored by prime rib with horseradish cream and French toast bread pudding. An electric violin concert from Ken Ford provides the showstopping centerpiece. The Pop Fizz Mimosa Bar lets mom customize her perfect sip, after she’s enjoyed her complimentary glass of welcome bubbles, of course. Doors at 10:30 am, show at 12 pm | $72 per person; 650 North Ave. NE, Atlanta, Book here

Brush Sushi

Brush brings its Japanese-inflected sensibility to Mother’s Day brunch. Snow crab eggs Benedict, miso duck, and a shrimp omelette croissant anchor the menu, while a croissant service—with toppings ranging from snow crab and ikura to truffle mascarpone—transforms the bread basket into something special. For the full send, ossetra caviar with yuzu mascarpone is there if the moment calls for it. 11 am-5 pm; 3009 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, Book here

The Americano

The draw here isn’t just the ribeye carving station or the honey lavender cheesecake; it’s what happens after. Diners get exclusive access to a five-stem flower bar in front of the Americano Cafe, where mom can build her own bouquet to take home. It’s a small touch that lands well—and a bouquet she actually made herself beats a grocery store flower arrangement every time. 11 am-3:30 pm; 3315 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, Book here

Tio Lucho’s

Chef Arnaldo Castillo draws directly from his mother’s Peruvian kitchen to shape a Mother’s Day menu rooted in heritage and seasonal ingredients rather than the usual brunch playbook. The result—aji-spiced mushroom quiche, short rib seco benedict with aji amarillo hollandaise—is a mouthwatering homage to home cooking. 675 N. Highland Ave. NE #6000, Atlanta, Book here

UMI

UMI is closed every Sunday, all year—except one. The Buckhead institution opens its doors exclusively for Mother’s Day, making it the rarest reservation on this list and arguably the most compelling reason to book now. Chef Fuyuhiko Ito’s nationally acclaimed modern Japanese menu—pristine nigiri, baked lobster tempura, black cod miso—speaks for itself on any given night. The fact that mom’s the reason it’s happening at all on a Sunday feels like the right kind of tribute. 4-8 pm; Two Buckhead Plaza, 3050 Peachtree Rd., Ste. #1, Atlanta, Book here

Reverence

The Epicurean hotel’s signature dining room earns its name with a buffet that ranges wider than most. Maryland crab cakes, maple garlic miso salmon, and prime rib with chimichurri red wine sauce share the spread with glass noodle salad, charcuterie, made-to-order omelets, and a full dessert display. The Lavender Lady, a gin cocktail with Empress 1901 and crème de violette, is the right drink for the room. The global range is what makes it worth the trip. 9 am-2 pm | $89 adults, $35 children under 12; 1117 West Peachtree St. Atlanta, Book here

Southern Gentleman

Buckhead’s beloved neighborhood restaurant knows its lane and stays in it—and on Mother’s Day, that’s exactly the right call. The three-course prix fixe leans into the Southern pantry with real conviction: shrimp deviled eggs, fried green tomatoes, lowcountry lobster rice, and strawberry shortcake pancakes that make a strong case for ordering dessert first. 10 am-3:30 pm; 3035 Peachtree Rd. NE, A208, Atlanta, Book here

Serena Pastificio

The Italian accent is what separates this Colony Square Mother’s Day buffet from the standard spread. Benedette al prosciutto swaps in crispy prosciutto and lemon-basil hollandaise, fondutelli with black truffle cream and braised leek brings proper pasta to the brunch table, and a limoncello cake with mascarpone icing and candied lemon peel closes things out with just enough sweetness. A $40 prosecco package—one bottle, with three juice options—keeps the mimosas coming without the per-glass math. 11 am-4 pm | $70 adults, $23 children under 12; 1197 Peachtree St. NE, Ste. 140, Atlanta, Book here
