Each of us holds a special place in our hearts for those favorite winter delicacies, and it’s fascinating how the universal allure of soup transcends borders. Amidst the vast array of culinary options, here are five delectable choices that promise to elevate your winter dining experience.

Glo Noodle House

I waited far too long to experience Glo after its opening in March of 2022. I capitalized on Happy Hour’s menu and started with the bao bun, pork dumplings, and negihama handroll. Veering from other bowls I would traditionally order because I enjoy the rice dish of lemon chicken, I decided to be a bit adventurous and it paid off! The star of the show was the Lemon Chicken Shio composed of “chicken broth, pork dashi, crispy lemon glazed chicken, onsen egg, menma, bean sprouts, green onion, chili jam, crispy shallot.” Make a reservation and do not make the mistake of waiting to slurp on these noodles.

La Diabla

Few places offer a Buy One, Get One (BoGo) deal on soup, but this Michelin Bib Gourmand Award-winning restaurant extends this enticing offer every Thursday. Mark your calendars and reach out to your fellow soup enthusiasts to relish the exquisite Pozole crafted by Mexico City culinary chef Jose Avila. Catering to diverse palates, the restaurant provides a choice of five broth options and two protein selections, served with traditional condiments such as lettuce, cabbage, radish, onions, and lime.

Indulge in the timeless comfort of a classic Tomato Soup paired with a delectably gooey Grilled Cheese at Blackbelly in Boulder. Exciting news has surfaced as they prepare to expand to Denver, taking over the former Il Porcellino Salumi space near Tennyson and 41st. Anticipated to open in February, Blackbelly Market Denver will offer not only a lunch menu but also feature their breakfast burritos, charcuterie, butcher cuts, and other market favorites.

Uncle has become a Denver mainstay renowned for their delicious ramen, but it’s their Veggie Khao Soi that has truly captivated my tastebuds. Featuring ramen noodles, this bowl begins with a flavorful “vegan northern Thai yellow curry broth,” complemented by “king trumpet mushrooms, spicy chili jam, pickled mustard greens, red onion, cilantro, and lime”. If you haven’t tried this dish yet, I strongly encourage you to do so this winter season. For those seeking protein feel free to add chicken, pork belly, or for an extra kick opt for a Spice Bomb.

The Bagel Deli and Restaurant

Bagel Deli is renowned for providing the perfect remedy for various ailments, be it winter chills or a seasonal cold. For Denver residents seeking solace, their Matzo Ball Soup emerges as the ultimate antidote. Picture a comforting homemade chicken noodle soup enriched with a substantial, delectable bread ball—pure nourishment for the soul. Visit them off Hampden just off I-25 for lunch 7 days a week.
