The most flavorful season has finally returned. Garden-fresh vegetables, sweet peaches, pasture-raised proteins, and artisan goods galore stock the your local farmers market, all across the metro area. With their curated selections, it’s easy to shop small and sustainably. 

But for many locals, these events are more than just a grocery run. Chef-made meals, live music, and a range of other activities on expansive lawns invite patrons to stay a while. From the city to the suburbs, here’s where to stock up and socialize this season.

Evergreen Farmers Market

Anchored by Brighton-based Palizzi Farm and Forte Fruits from Palisade, this food-centric market offers fresh produce, baked goods, ready-made meals, and more. Health and wellness products round out the selection, and free parking is plentiful. 

Dates: From May 26 to September 22 

Times: Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Boulder Farmers Market

Operating for nearly forty years, this longtime market in downtown Boulder is one of the largest in the metro area. Purchase fresh, healthy goods from fruit orchards, regenerative ranchers, and a range of other local producers. There’s also a food court with cold drinks and plated dishes, plus regular live music. Visit on Wednesday evenings, as well as Saturdays. 

Dates: From May 6 to October 7

Times: Wednesdays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Green Valley Ranch Farmers Market

During the summer, thousands from this northeast Denver neighborhood gather for this market. It features more than fifty local vendors, rotating family activities, and live music from the park’s outdoor amphitheatre. 

Dates: From June 5 to August 28

Times: Wednesdays from 5 to 8 p.m.

Sterling Ranch Farmers Market 

Set between Chatfield and Roxborough state parks, this master planned community offers a weekly farmers market with fresh produce, quality proteins, and dairy products, plus small-batch goods like jams and salsas. 

Dates: From June 24 to October 14 

Times: Wednesdays from 3 to 7 p.m.

Thursdays

Erie Farmers Market

All of the farms that participate in this market are local to Colorado and GMO-free; many also follow organic practices. In addition to produce and proteins, shoppers will find prepared goods, chef-made bites, fresh flowers, wellness products, and handmade crafts.  

Dates: From May 7 to September 17 

Times: Thursdays from 5 to 8 p.m.

Fridays 

Huerta Urbana Farmers Market

Residents of Globeville Elyria-Swansea live in a food desert, and this pay-what-you-can market aims to improve access to seasonal produce and other pantry essentials. WIC, SNAP, and Double Up Bucks are accepted. Those with the means are encouraged to purchase items at full price or above, as any surplus supports a family facing food insecurity. 

Dates: From June 19 to October 30 

Times: Fridays from 2 to 5 p.m.

Boulder Farmers Market

Also held on Wednesday evenings, this robust market in downtown Boulder allows visitors to collect their entire grocery haul. Local artisans join on every second Saturday of the month, offering an even wider selection with body care products, clothing, handmade jewelry, and more. 

Dates: Now until November 21 

Times: Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Wednesdays from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Cherry Creek Fresh Market 

For nearly thirty years, this market has spotlighted locally grown, raised, and thoughtfully made goods within the city’s premier shopping district. Bag up fresh produce, savor bites from vendors like Maria Empanada and Black Box Bakery, and browse a range of pop-up boutiques. Those on the market’s email list receive a weekly barcode for free parking.

Dates: From May 2 to October 10 

Times: Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

City Park Farmers Market 

Get to know Colorado’s farmers and producers at this popular market in City Park. Local vendors offer everything a home kitchen needs: fresh fruit and vegetables, eggs, meat, and dairy, plus an assortment of specialty goods. Chef-made bites, live music, and wide green spaces invite visitors to linger, as do activations like a run club and yoga. 

Dates: From May 2 to October 31

Times: Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Golden Farmers Market 

Food equity, supporting local businesses, and fostering community is at the heart of this event in downtown Golden. Vendors set up their tents on Saturday mornings and soon, details for a mid-week market will be announced.  

Dates: From May 30 to October 3 

Times: Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Harvey Park Farmers Market  

New this year, Harvey Park will have its own farmers market with a full range of grocery items from regional farmers, ranchers, and entrepreneurs. Shop from more than fifty vendors, including Rebel Farm, Five Freedoms Dairy, Sfoglina’s handmade pasta, and GetRight’s bakery. 

Dates: From May 2 to late October 

Times: Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Lakewood Farmers Market 

Shop local without leaving the suburbs. Overseen by the metro area’s longest-running farmers market group, this weekly event in Lakewood promises a solid selection. 

Dates: From June 13 to October 3 

Times: Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Longmont Farmers Market  

With over a hundred vendors, this Boulder County market offers fresh groceries, pantry stables, and ready-made fare from one community-centric hub. Local artisans add to the wide selection every fourth Saturday of the month. Enjoy live music and free kids’ activities, too. 

Dates: Now until November 21 

Times: Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Louisville Farmers Market 

This award-winning market features organic and GMO-free farms that produce everything from grass-fed livestock to fresh fruits and vegetables. Prepared goods like Colorado honey, along with spirits and baked goods made from local grains, are also part of the lineup.  

Dates: From May 9 to October 10 

Times: Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Southlands Farmers Market 

Now set on Main Street, this southeast Aurora market spotlights organic produce, farm-fresh dairy, delicious baked goods, and more. Find its colorful tents at the core of the open-air shopping complex. 

Dates: From May 9 to September 26 

Times: Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Southwest Plaza Farmers Market 

This Littleton market posts up outside the Southwest Plaza mall and features a variety of vendors that prioritize sustainable, small-scale agriculture. Much of the produce sold is organic, and is always fresh and in-season. Visitors can shop for meats, dairy, and baked goods, too. 

Dates: From May 2 to October 31 

Times: Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

University Hills Farmers Market

Note that this southeast Denver market has moved its location this year, with vendors now set three blocks down from the previous site. Still, expect plenty of free parking and familiar faces offering fresh groceries and flavorful bites.

Urban Market at Union Station 

During harvest season, the LoDo food scene gets even better. On select weekends, this market pops up right outside Union Station, a public transport hub that caters to locals and tourists alike. Shop for fresh food, plus an eclectic mix of arts and crafts while enjoying live music and other free entertainment. 

Dates: From May 31 to October 26

Times: Select weekends from 12 to 6 p.m.

Westminster Farmers Market  

There’s something for everyone at this suburban market, which offers organic and conventional produce from several regional farms. Fill your tote with juicy Palisade peaches, Olathe sweet corn, heirloom crops, and more. There’s also a great selection of proteins, dairy products, pastries, and even treats for your pooch

Dates: From June 6 to September 26

Times: Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Arvada Farmers Market

Stock up on groceries at this market in walkable Olde Town Arvada. Local merchants offer garden-fresh fruits and vegetables, along with honey, breads, cheeses, pickled goods, and more, including health and wellness products. 

Dates: From June 7 to September 27 

Times: Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Central Park Farmers Market 

This northeast Denver neighborhood’s market features locally-grown produce and dozens of gourmet food vendors, including Haykin Family Cidery, Bjorn’s Colorado Honey, and Ray Road Nut Butter. Collect your goods, then find a spot on the grassy lawn to listen to live musicians. 

Dates: From June 21 to October 11 

Times: Sundays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Highlands Ranch Farmers Market

Residents of this southern suburb will find plenty at their local farmers market, from spring radishes and rhubarb to summer’s bounty of cherries, peaches, and a wide variety of veg. 

Dates: From May 3 to November 1 

Times: Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Highlands Square Farmers Market 

Stroll 32nd Avenue in the West Highland neighborhood, full of local shops, delicious restaurants, and a fantastic seasonal farmers market. Stands display fresh produce, vibrant flowers, breads, and pastries, among many other goods. Browse the selection while sipping a brunch cocktail from its bar and sway along to the live music. 

Dates: From May 10 to October 25

Lafayette Farmers Market

Run by the same husband-and-wife duo as City Park’s farmers market, this weekly event serves several north Denver suburbs. The selection is vast, with vendors spanning multiple blocks. Purchase grass-fed lamb, beef, and pork from Buckner Family Farms; pasture-raised eggs and organic vegetables from Crooked Roots; gourmet mushrooms from Fox Fungi; and much more.  

Dates: From May 3 to October 25

Orchard Farmers Market

Set in the Macy’s parking lot at Orchard Town Center, this open-air market celebrates local producers. From juicy peaches and roasted green chiles to grass-fed beef, the selection makes it easy to plan the week’s meals. Ready-made goods and household items add to the mix.

Parker Farmers Market  

With more than a hundred vendors, there’s no place in Parker more popular on a Sunday morning than this farmers market. Order a bite from one of the many food trucks and shop for groceries, homegoods, and body products from local small businesses.

Times: Sundays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

People + Produce at Belleview Station 

The only farmers market in the Denver Tech Center draws a lively crowd each week. More than fifty merchants set up in the walkable Belleview Station district, providing locals with fresh food and the opportunity to connect with the community. Follow shopping with sips at the beer garden and tune into live music performances.

South Pearl Street Farmers Market 

One of the largest farmers markets in the metro area, this event on South Pearl features more than 170 vendors. While there’s too many to name, these include Ela Family Farm, Buck and Bloom Cheese Co., Reunion Bread, and Sauvage Spectrum, a standout name in Colorado’s wine scene. Live music completes this beloved summer experience. 

Dates: From May 3 to November 8 

Times: Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Urban Market at Union Station 

During the summer and fall, Union Station is even more bustling with its seasonal farmers market featuring local vendors and live entertainment. This event also takes place on select Saturday afternoons.
