You Can Eat It, Too!

When Incredible Eats sent us a sample box of edible spoons, we immediately ripped into it. Could this be the answer to the mountain of waste left behind at every event?

It was this grim statistic—by the year 2050 there will be more plastic (by weight) in the ocean than fish—that motivated Dinesh Tadepalli, Jack Kneubuhl, and Kruvil Patel to take action. The result: The California-based Incredible Eats now creates vegan spoons in four flavors: oregano-chili, black pepper, vanilla, and chocolate. The spoons are hearty enough to withstand hot and cold temperatures for up to 30 minutes.

But how do they taste? Pretty dang good, and they’re delicate enough not to interfere with the flavor notes of a prepared bite. The spoons are a little too thick if biting into them immediately, but let them sit and they soften ever so slightly. You can pick them up for $11.99 per box of 20 large spoons or 30 small spoons at incrediblespoon.com.
