Houston has a new destination for game days—and long after the final whistle blows. Uptown Sporting Club has opened at 1131 Uptown Park Blvd. in Uptown Park, offering a polished take on the traditional sports bar with elevated cocktails, globally inspired comfort food, and a nightlife atmosphere that ramps up after dark. The 5,000-square-foot venue features eight large-screen TVs, a 115-inch LED screen, and a menu of upscale bar fare, including Korean fried chicken, Wagyu smashburgers, steak frites, and truffle fries. Behind the bar, signature cocktails like the Flying Emirates and Texas Pecan complement an extensive spirits selection, while 134 private bottle lockers add an exclusive touch for regulars.
Houston’s healthy fast-casual dining scene gets another addition this week as Original ChopShop opens its newest location at 10100 Katy Freeway, Ste. 180, in the Memorial City District on Wednesday, July 15. The Arizona-born concept specializes in customizable protein bowls, fresh salads, sandwiches, juices, smoothies, and all-day breakfast, making it a convenient stop from morning through dinner. To celebrate opening day, the first 50 guests in line at 10 a.m. will receive a branded tote bag with the purchase of an entrée, while 10% of the day’s sales will benefit Mental Health America of Greater Houston.

One of Houston’s biggest hometown holidays gets an equally hometown celebration at Savoy HTX. On Monday, July 13, the Midtown hotspot will host the official release party for Houston rap legend Z-Ro’s new Mo City Don music video, complete with the video’s premiere on the venue’s massive big screen and a special appearance by the artist. Festivities begin at 11 a.m. with brunch, half-price mimosas and champagne until 2 p.m., plus $7.13 food and drink specials available all day in honor of 713 Day. DJ Hefna will keep the party going ahead of the 8 p.m. watch party.
Downtown Houston’s newest French-inspired café is officially open, and it’s throwing a fête to celebrate. Petite Lucie will host its grand opening on Tuesday, July 14, with a Bastille Day celebration from 2 to 8 p.m. featuring an artisan market, floral arranging, pétanque, caricature artists, puppet shows, French-inspired bites and cocktails, and a FIFA World Cup semifinal watch party. The festivities continue from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Champagne toast and an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at 6 p.m., making it a fitting debut for one of Downtown’s newest culinary destinations.
Fielding’s Restaurant Group is giving Houstonians a new reason to dine out during the week with the launch of its Summer Nights series at Fielding’s Wood Grill, Fielding’s Local Kitchen + Bar, and Fielding’s STEAK. The weekly lineup includes kids eat free on Mondays; Taco & Tequila Tuesdays with $5 margaritas and tequila cocktails; half-price bottles of wine on Wednesdays, and $5 martinis every Thursday beginning at 5 p.m. The limited-time promotion is designed to make chef-driven dining and handcrafted cocktails a little easier on the wallet all summer long.

Houston’s iconic James Coney Island is marking National Hot Dog Day with a deal that’s hard to pass up. On Wednesday, July 15, guests can enjoy the restaurant’s famous Coneys for just $2.50 at all locations as part of its “All-American Summer” celebration.
One of Houston’s prettiest dining rooms has a few new reasons to visit. Annabelle Brasserie has rolled out a selection of seasonal menu additions, including chicken Paillard, creamy Mushroom tagliatelle, a pair of new steak and chicken sandwiches, smoked salmon carpaccio & asparagus, and brunch-only eggs Benedict. The French-inspired restaurant has also refreshed the presentation of favorites like its Caesar Salad and Steak Frites.
Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille is celebrating its milestone 40th anniversary with a special four-course menu available through the end of July. Offered Sunday through Thursday from 4 p.m. to close, the $44 prix-fixe menu lets guests mix and match from a selection of Perry’s signature dishes, including pork chop bites, pecan-smoked salmon crostini, the signature wedge salad, the restaurant’s famous lunch-cut pork chop, and desserts like orange vanilla cream cheesecake and chocolate crunch tower. The dine-in-only promotion is available by request through the end of the month, making it an affordable way to experience one of Houston’s longtime steakhouse favorites.
Houston fine-dining institution Tony’s is dipping into its storied archives this summer with the return of some of its most beloved dishes. Available Thursday through Saturday during July and August, the restaurant’s new Off-Menu Icons experience offers a three-course menu for $75 per person, featuring longtime favorites like the signature tableside warm spinach salad, snapper Sheridan, veal cannelloni, steak Diane, and tableside bananas foster. The limited-time menu celebrates more than six decades of culinary history, giving longtime regulars a nostalgic taste of the past while introducing a new generation to the dishes that helped make Tony’s a Houston legend.
