Spring Branch is getting a new all-day destination for racquet sports, dining and drinks when Long Point Social Club opens Wednesday, August 26.

The new two-acre club from Andy Aweida and Jeff Barati, co-owners of the Kirby Group, brings together 12 pickleball courts, four padel courts, an all-day café, full-service restaurant and bar, dog park, and a full slate of leagues, lessons and community programming.

More neighborhood gathering place than traditional racquet club, Long Point Social Club is designed to give Houstonians plenty of reasons to visit whether or not they pick up a paddle—from morning coffee and weekend brunch to happy hour, watch parties, and late-night drinks.

The sprawling property features 12 pickleball courts—eight of them covered—along with four padel courts. Players can sign up for leagues, clinics, private lessons, open play and tournaments, with formats ranging from King of the Court and round robins to padel Americano. Four membership tiers will be offered, but membership isn’t required: Public court reservations will be available.

“We wanted to create more than a place to play,” said Aweida in a statement. “Long Point Social Club is designed to bring people together, whether they are joining a league, learning a new sport, meeting friends for open play or simply spending time in the space. Our goal is to build a community where everyone can find a way to participate and feel welcome.”

That social component extends well beyond the courts. Long Point plans to host run clubs, themed gatherings, and watch parties, with nine TVs and an LED video wall situated throughout the property. There’s also a dog park for four-legged regulars.

As with the Kirby Group’s other concepts (Heights Biergarten, Bayou Heights Biergarten) food and drink are a significant part of the equation. LP Café starts pouring specialty coffee at 8 a.m., with pastries, bagels, smoothies and grab-and-go fare for early arrivals.

Later in the day, the club’s kitchen and bar take over with a scratch-made menu, beer, wine and cocktails, plus daily happy hour and weekend brunch.

The menu leans playful, with dishes like Pickleballs—cream cheese and dill pickle fritters with yogurt ranch—and Third Shot Wings glazed with Calabrian chile and Tajín honey. More substantial options include the double-smash Bixby Burger, a grilled chicken sandwich with fresh mozzarella, tomato and basil, and the 7202 Steak, which is actually a sweet potato “steak” finished with miso butter and green apple gremolata.

There’s another reason to stick around after the last serve. The property will house the Bixby, a separate cocktail lounge with its own entrance and identity. Details on that concept are still under wraps, though it is known that the lounge will open at 4 p.m. and remain open until 2 a.m.

With courts open from morning until midnight and coffee, cocktails, and food filling the hours in between, Long Point Social Club is positioning itself as something broader than Houston’s latest pickleball destination. It’s a bet that Spring Branch is ready for a new kind of neighborhood hangout—racquet optional.
