The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is sharpening the Live at the Founders Club Series with a new, chef-driven menu from James Beard Award–winning chef Chris Shepherd. Available exclusively with the intimate music series, the menu debuts during Modern Folk – Multicultural Roots, starring the American Patchwork Quartet on the weekend of January 30 and 31. Designed to match the series’ cabaret-style format, Shepherd’s offerings focus on approachable dishes, like birria taquitos, cool cucumber salad, and seafood sliders, meant to be enjoyed comfortably during the performance. Shows take place inside the Founders Club, an event space atop the Hobby Center that transforms into a club-like setting with table seating, food service, and drinks throughout the evening. Since launching in 2023, the series has aimed to create a more immersive experience, and the addition of Shepherd’s Houston-rooted menu further cements that vision.
