It’s the 140th anniversary of the National Western Stock Show, and restaurants, bars, and eater-tainment spots all over the city are gearing up for the fun. While professionals ride bulls and showcase their horse training skills, chefs will be making special burgers, barbecue platters, and cocktails to commemorate the occasion. January 8: Urban Farmer Serves Up Parade Day Feasts

January 9 to 25: Bison Days at Number Thirty Eight
Number Thirty Eight partnered with Make-A-Wish Colorado for the sixth annual Bison Days, running throughout the Stock Show. The multi-week celebration features live music from The Droptines, Tyler Rich, Josh Gracin, and Eric Paslay. January 9 to 25: Jameson Pop-Up at The Peach Crease Club
Alex Jump and Stuart Jensen’s new bar launches The Peach Pit, a Jameson Irish Coffee pop-up just created just for the Stock Show. The outdoor, walk-up window will serve easy-to-drink warming cocktails including Irish coffees, green tea shots, and more. January 10 to 24: Riot BBQ Pop-Up

During the event Riot BBQ is taking over the historic saloon inside The Exchange at the National Western Center for the duration of the Stock Show. Chef Manny Barella and pitmaster Patrick Klaiber will be serving their signature Texas-meets-Mexican barbecue by the half-pound platter. Choices include brisket, turkey, pulled pork, and ribs. January 10 and 24: Party Like an Animal at Moodswing
Moodswing, North Denver’s new pickleball restaurant, bar, and event space is hosting a series of free Stock Show events. On Saturday, January 10, enjoy the National Western Stock Show After Party with line dancing lessons from Two Left Boots at 9:30 and 10:30 PM, plus open dancing in between. That same day, skip parking with a free shuttle powered by Elevate Rides to the Stock Show, then return to Moodswing for the New Boot Goofin’ Dance Party with DJ Augment.

January 16: Wynkoop Brewing Company Party

January 23: 80th Annual Steer Day at The Brown Palace

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the 2026 Grand Champion Steer will make a red-carpet entrance into The Brown Palace Atrium Lobby during Afternoon Tea, capping off the National Western Stock Show. The tradition dates to 1945, when cattleman Daniel I.J. Thornton paraded prize-winning bulls through the lobby after a record-breaking sale. Guests can sip tea and enjoy handmade sandwiches as the 1,000-plus pound steer steals the spotlight beneath the hotel’s holiday décor, which stays on display through the Stock Show season.
