Recipe: Maize in the Shade

How to make use of the unique (and beautifully bottled) Nixta Licor de Elote? Try this recipe from Citizen Rail bar manager Sarah Harmacek—and read more about its flavor profile here.

Maize in the Shade

  • 1 ounce Olmeca Altos tequila
  • 1 ounce Nixta corn liqueur
  • ½ ounce Ancho Reyes chile liqueur
  • ½ ounce lime juice
  • ¼ ounce agave syrup

Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker, shake, and strain over ice. Garnish with a lime wedge or (if you’re feeling fancy) a burnt corn husk.
